Will this beta version be released early this week?
There is a problem where your Gunship (for example) wouldn't be buildable when you unlocked a weapon or defense that required a special resource (like Durantium) that you didn't have.
With this change there is always a normal (doesn't require any special resources) and advanced (picks all the best weapons you have access to, even if they cost resources) version of all the ships. Thats important so you can still field ships even if you are out of Durantium (for example) or just if you don't want to spend your Durantium on that ship.

Did this include the draft colonyship when a new colonyship was designed?

What does this line mean? Does it refer to ships within the ship designer?
Made "Upgradedable" a ship stat so that modders can control what ships they want to make upgradeable (or if they want to make all ships upgradeable).

Dang, I was hoping it'd be this week. Was gonna play as The Hive to test those changes for you.
This gives me time to play on the largest setting, with tiny sectors, and maybe come close to finishing a game
Please fill out more of the empty Techs so they do something besides lead to another Tech (which may be empty also).
I see there are new additions to the Fixes section, the Balance section and the UI section. I think some of them will make some of the players very happy.
The last place influence bug is still in the game. You could be the civ with the most influence, but you are ranked dead last.You can still get the odd colony ship with no population on it.We still don't have a guard command. It would be like sentry, except they wouldn't wake up because a ship came into sensor range.
I started the everwar and every race in the game declared war on each other. Problem is most of them had been fully defeated for dozens or hundreds of turns. I’m doing against the tides and Everwar at the same time and slowly conquering the whole galaxy started with 7 AI and it’s down to me and the yor. It would be the damn robots that I have to finish last Festron can’t make much of a meal out of them. I’ll let you know if the everwar and against the tide work properly. For balancing I don’t think they should be able to be triggered at the same time. Although the game is running long already I’m at turn 501 and 22 hours in.
Derek - I understand why you needed to limit the upgrading to Commander ships, but I really think that the prototype ships need looking at. They become obsolete too quickly. Some are even obsolete by the time I can build them. Since they are unique to each faction, maybe they could show up on the commanders tab. Even if we couldn't upgrade them, but it would be great if we could, being able to assign a leader to them would help make them more useful.

Oh nice, I see you snuck the battle viewer in there. Or maybe it has been there for a while and I just missed it because I usually skim past the multiplayer stuff quickly. This should make a lot of people happy.
Looks like you have also cleaned up a lot of the empty/useless techs. Hopefully there aren't any more "blank spots" in the tech trees where you have to research something that does nothing.

Great update. I like that the Battle Viewer is in this iteration. There is a LOT of substantial improvements here and the game was already light years ahead of III.

On a side note. I love the Galactic Events. I love that you added more.
I think they are so cool that a DLC could be made for them or some similar thing like Xcom did with some outfits (free DLC at release) not sure if this is still a thing or not.
