I use Multiplicy KVM to play EverQuest on multiple computers, and with the recent EQ upgrade to 64-bit servers, Multiplicity is "broken" now. Keyboard works fine, but if I use the mouse to move (right click) or look around (left click), it duplicates that action on all other connected computers. This was happening on the Test server several weeks ago, and is now happening on the Live server after today's patch/update. I'm not the only person having this issue.
Update: If EQ has indeed prevented Multiplicity from functioning properly, there is nothing we can do about it.
Update: The changes for EQ were incorporated into Multiplicity 3.60

I think it's unrealistic to expect them to patch the MP software when you are using something to modify the EQ game client.
Lax is aware and has been working on that issue for awhile with JMB. Seperate issue.
Hello, I have been following this thread waiting for a solution as well.
I have 3 Windows 11 pc's. I have tried the uninstall, reboot, reinstall method several times. I have cleared cookies and the registry using ccleaner on all 3 pc's between restarts. I have attempted the beta installation on this thread on the main PC with an older version on my 2 secondary pc's. Still no joy.
From either of the secondary PC's, I'm broadcasting mouse clicks and scrolling on the primary pc simultaneously. The secondary PC's seem to be working properly. I am not running any other apps or programs in the background. I am playing in fullscreen on all the pc's, but even if I put the primary pc in windowed mode and move the EQ window away from the side of the monitor I'm mousing over to the other PC's, it still controls the EQ character.
When I log out of EQ on the main PC, but my secondary pc's stay in EQ, the broadcasting to the primary PC stops. It is only when the primary pc is in game. I play EQ through the launcher. I have noticed this behavior when I'm playing Elden Ring (through Steam), my primary PC will duplicate mouse actions on a secondary pc that I'm using to surf the web/ look things up.
Keyboard actions are not duplicated at all, it's just the mouse left, right buttons, and the scroll.
The Beta should be installed on ALL PC's. Uninsall old version, reboot, install Beta, reboot. Oddly enough, Installing and running X-Mouse once seemed to have permanently stopped the issue you are experiencing for me a few weeks ago. The only issue that the Beta resolved when I installed it was the Mouse curusor not lining up properly.
So I reinstalled multiplicity on all 3 of my machines, and I deleted the x mouse files. I can now play eq in full screen, but over past couple days I’ve noticed the mouse cursor will lag badly sometimes when when on my 2nd or 3rd computer. The fluidity seems off. Any idea why?
Restart MP services to restore fluid mouse control. This has happened sporadically to me even before EQ and MP were updated.
Update seems to be working for me, thanks!
I am experiencing a different issue with Everquest, though. Wasn't sure if I should make a new thread so I'll just try here first. Just got a new laptop with Windows 11 and I am running it as a secondary machine. Mouse scroll and left mouse look gets completely disabled in game (scrolling works fine outside the game - web browsing, etc). I did find a workaround by plugging a separate mouse into a USB port before launching the game.
Any ideas on how to fix this issue without resorting to the workaround?
This is a known issue with EverQuest. It requires a physical keyboard and mouse plugged in to each machine in order to behave correctly. It has nothing to do with MP.
Any idea what causes certain machines to be affected? I've been using older laptops for a few years now and never encountered this issue.
Tried these recommendations, still broadcasting mouse clicks and scroll function to the main PC. The other 2 secondary PCs can just be on the desktop and I'm broadcasting back to the main PC but only in EQ. When the main PC is at the desktop, chrome, etc., no mouse clicks are being broadcast from the secondary PCs. X-mouse on the main PC had no effect as far as I can tell.
Maybe I should start a new thread on the forums for this issue?
When u say restart services, would a computer reboot be suffice? I did that and no luck
Yes
A laptop has a builtin keyboard, so those are not effected.
My main pc is running version 3.57 build 00104.kvm
my second and 3rd computer is running version 3.58 build 00104
Is this right? if so not sure why I’m still real laggy.
Internet connections are stable , mouse and keyboard plugged into both computers.processor and memory are not overtaxed
Everything was working fine before 64 bit
Using the update provide, this clears it up. Looking forward to seeing it an official release.
uninstalled on four machines, clean reboot, reinstalled, second clean reboots. Still does not work. Mouse movements echo on primary still.
Same. Not working here either.
What if you restart the service?
If that works, try this that I wrote some time ago....https://cdn.stardock.us/support/uploads/MP-StartStop.zip
It will start the service if it is stopped; stop it if it is started.
Any ETA on the fix for the mouse echoing right left and scroll on the primary pc? This is making this software useless for even word processing much lest gaming.
The issue with everquest is fixed.
There is a link to the update in this thread and others have confirmed the issue is indeed resolved.
Seems I am in the pot of this not fixing the issue.
I uninstalled multiplicity, rebooted, reinstalled on all boxes, rebooted again, issue persists.
I uninstalled multiplicity with revo uninstaller to make sure everything was gone, reboot, installed and rebooted before configuring, rebooted once configured, tested again, still not fixed.
I take that back, it seems I may have gotten the issue to go away after also re-adjusting some other compatibility settings I had messed with in troubleshooting the issue over the last month
Let me be sure I understand, so others have confirmed that it is still not working, but because some people said it has, you all are done? The "fix" was installed as stated in my previous posts, literally 6 posts above your reply. This "fix" has the mouse echoing right and left mouse clicks on any program that steals focus. No its not anything I can find in settings. If any program takes focus on the primary pc it echos any right or left click along with scrolling while on the secondaries.
I am sorry you are still experiencing some issues but the issue with everquest has indeed been resolved. It was caused by the change to 64 bit which was not being worked around and the update engages this fix for 64 bit as well as 32 bit games. Note the issue was specific to a 64 bit game having full screen focus on the primary.
Given your description, it sounds like you are encountering a different issue if this is happening with other applications. In order to help with the issue I would recommend creating your own thread as then support can help you troubleshoot without it getting mixed up with an unrelated now resolved problem.
It is definitely not normal for input to be processed on the primary whilst controlling the secondary.
It occurs to me to mention that you should disable X Mouse and anything else you may have applied to attempt to fix the issue.
It has been a while now, when can we expect this update to come across as an official patch? As in it gets applied to steam as well.
Let me repost the ORIGINAL post for this issue. As I said. This has NOT been fixed. It is still happening and after your FIX it is doing the same thing not only in Everquest but in any program that steals focus on the primary computer. So one more time, your calling this fixed, even though several people are still having the same issue. Just wanting to confirm this.
