I'm not sure if this is the right thread for feature requests, but would it be possible to add an option for those who use the "position buttons in center of taskbar" feature to display pinned apps on the left side of the taskbar next to the start button when they are not running and then have them move to the center of the taskbar when they're open?
OS: Windows 11 Pro, 21H2, 22000.527Start11: 1.11
Bug: If I click on a Recent file under a MS Office icon that has been renamed, Strart11 crashes. Granted, this will happen very rarely, but I was trying to remove it from the Recent list as it was renamed, but cannot.
Steps to reproduce:
Bug: When using Start11 search, search will miss files unless "use old Start10 style search" is enabled.
Not really an issue in the latest release, but has been going on for a while. The recent documents section. This list does not update frequently enough!
5 minutes ago I saved and then opened a PDF file. This is still not listed under recent documents. On Windows 11's own start menu, it is the first item under Recommended and it even says 5m ago... I'm using Window 11 style.
The list should pretty much be real time.
Did taskbar transparency break for anyone else on latest Win11 dev build (22567.100)? In fact, no level of transparency works for me anymore except solid.
When using start11 and I activate the menu portion I am unable to change my Lockscreen wallpaper from the stock photo. I know start11 is the culprit because if I disable it ..... the functionality of changing the wallpaper comes back. I'm using Windows 11 version 21H2 build 22000.493
This is known and there is a chance this will remain like this due to changes in the OS.
The dev channel builds are of course experimental so who knows what might change before things get anywhere near release.
Build 22000.527Ive got an issue on my secondary screen that comes and goes, the clock changes position from the right side to the left and breaking the position on the start menu button. start menu still works.
I am using Start11 and generally loving and appreciating it. Here is one thing that's happening that is bothersome--
I usually have multiple Chrome windows open at the same time and switch back and forth among them as I do my work. I always have these windows maximized vertically, and always have one aligned with the left side of the screen, another aligned with the right side of the screen, and if I have a third, it's usually somewhere in the center not aligned on either side. When my computer goes to sleep, or it's inactive for 10 minutes and the screen saver goes on, when I wake it up, these Chrome windows have shrunk a bit so that they're no longer maximized vertically, and they have moved in an bit, so they're no longer aligned with the left and right sides of the screen. Of course I can adjust them, which I do, but I wish the system would remember the placement of these windows and preserve it. You can see in the screenshot how the vertical size and positioning are slightly contracted after waking up the system. By contrast, I always have a Word document open, maximized vertically, and aligned with the left side of the screen, and that size/placement does stay put even when I wake the system up from sleep or the screen saver. So I think this has something to do with Chrome. Also by contrast, if I disable Start11 and just use the default Windows 11 taskbar/Start menu, this does not happen with Chrome.
If you can tweak the program to retain all sizes and placements, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks.

Start11 does not provide the taskbar or alter the positions of any chrome windows.
I am afraid this isn't something Start11 is doing (or not doing)
Hi there,
Just a reminder:
https://forums.stardock.com/507700/page/1/#3834577This issue still exists (newest Version of Stardock & OS Build 22000.493).Kind Regards,Kami
Had to uninstall Start 11. Had to restart Windows Explorer multiple times a day since I upgraded to Windows 11. I have all the latest Windows 11 updates. Since uninstalling it Windows 11 explorer behaves normally now.
I would make sure you had the very latest version of Start11 as this is not normal. There was an issue for some people with search but in 1.11 this was moved out of explorer to prevent any problems like that.
What made you need to restart explorer exactly?
Just wanted to not that all issues with the weather icon on the left of the taskbar have now been resolved in the latest Windows 10 update this week. KB4023057 and KB5011493. were installed this week and suddently the weather Icon now functions properly even though there was no mention of it in the release notes for the updates.
I had to restart Windows Explorer due to taskbar not responding.
Windows 11 pro Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000
Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.556.0
Start 11 become full of bugs...on the pop-up windows the buttons no respond.
Uninstalled and reinstalled apps same bugs...all happens after the last windows update.
Small taskbar cut the icons....is one big feature for that I choose this program.
Sad... Microsoft still beta after many years...keep user interaction/ user experience as simple... stop windows pop-ups, stop integrate innovative marketing tools in apps that work... take as feedback.
?
Not sure what happened, but I'm running Start 11 1.11 on windows 11 dev build 22572.ni_release.22034-1536, and I cannot access or see the stuff in the bottom right hand corner.
Due to their buggy nature as Microsoft themselves state, we cannot officially support Windows dev channel builds. Nobody should be using them on anything remotely resembling a computer they actively use on a day to day basis,
That said I would recommend installing the 1.15 beta of Start11. I have not seen anything like that issue in our own testing but 1.15 is what we have been using not 1.11.
Same issue on my end, about the dev build.
I'll download the beta version to see if that fixes it.
I am afraid we do not offer technical assistance with dev builds as they are extremely buggy by design. Issues with those builds would need to be reported to Microsoft.
That said the 1.16 beta of Start11 should get you your system tray area and clock back.
Long time user of the Start products, installed Start11 1.11 and have had a number of bugs:
1. System tray icons and overflow icon are missing (or possibly covered by my Lenovo battery meter). See https://ibb.co/GkRYP17
EDIT: I think it is behind the battery thing because there's a few pixels there where I can reach the overflow:
https://ibb.co/W6q400D
2. Every time I would go to the config screen for Modern start menu, it would revert back to Modern theme instead of Modern theme without icon
Fixed in newest beta
3. Often times, the Change menu visual appearance thing is disabled / grayed out. (Modern theme)
Fixed in newest beta?
4. Using on/off for hiding shortcut text would get confused, sometimes with On hiding them and Off showing them. Or there's maybe just a long lag before it takes effect.
Haven't retested
5. For the right-side items, sometimes adding a separator would remove an existing separator, and adding two separators back-to-back only produces one on the menu. Wish you could have two, or a setting to make the separator gap bigger. (I'm using icons only, replaced with glyphs)
Running Win11 Build 22000.556I've uninstalled several of the default installed apps (via <Right-Click> -> Uninstall), such as Microsoft News, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft To Do, Power Automate and Xbox. I'm not positive if I uninstalled them before or after I installed Start11, but I believe it was before. Whenever Start11 is enabled with either the Windows 10 Style or Windows 11 style, all of the uninstalled Apps appear on the start menu with an empty dark icon (I have the Windows Dark Theme enabled). If I go to the Windows 11 default menu or the Start11 Modern style, the uninstalled apps do not appear. If I select any of the uninstalled apps off the start menu, they fail to run saying it can't find the particular app, so I know they're really not installed. As a test, I uninstalled Start11 (removing data) and reinstalled it. The uninstalled apps still appear on the Start menus listed above after reinstalling Start11.
This one is just a cosmetic issue, but I'm sure you'll want to fix it for consistency. It's a simple capitalization of "Style" in the "Windows 10 Style" theme. All of the other themes have a lowercase S.
You can easily fix this by editng the language file.
Hope it helps!

The items on the taskbar are not resized until the option "Vertically centre the taskbar buttons" is ON. Until then some of the applications are missing in the taskbar. It happened several times.
It sounds like you are using an earlier of Start11
