Hi, I have Fences 3 and think about to buy Fences 4.
What I have seen in the demo there is a dark Mode, bringing Fences on Top an Win11 Support.
Is that all for an upgrade or other interesting changes/features?
Hello,
Please review Fences 4 changelog : https://www.stardock.com/products/fences/history

With all due respect, referring us to the changelog really does not answer the question of what new features does Fences 4 give us that were not in Fences 3? I fully appreciate all the fixes that have been made, but what new actual features does Fences 4 add to the features in Fences 3 which, to be perfectly honest, has worked just fine on our computers. Please be very clear as to exactly what new features would justify buying a new version of Fences. Please give us good, specific reasons to upgrade.
Thank you very much.
From as user prospective, what is new for me, now, is what you saw. But, what under the hood for Windows 11 going forward is something to look for. So, the choice is still yours, as a customer. You decide what suit you best. If Fences 3 still work for you. Than by all means stay with it, until it no longer work for your system. Windows 11 like Windows 10 will evolve, and there might be time where Fences 3, won't work on Windows 11. Just like Fences 2 on Windows 10.
Thank you,

It is funny this is never officially answered. It would be a shame if you would have answer:
Cheers.
New features? How about fixing in V4 the major bugs in V3? (Apologies for adding my comments to yours Hybrid79)
I find the new version, whilst more restrictive in licencing is not a problem, does not address any problems I experience in V3. I know Fences does not like multi monitors and if used on a laptop it's not a problem. But in my opinion Object desktop its more suited to a PC and nowadays a lot of users have more than one. Also we tend to turn the screen off but leave the pc running/asleep.
Coming back to a pc running V4, I see no real advantages. Its still buggy, I have to relocate and resize folders on the primary monitor. Using a saved snapshot does not work.
Moving a portal folder does not move other icons out of the way so I lose shortcuts.
So yes there a few changes, mainly for licencingit seems but no real incentive to upgrade as far as I can see. Please prove me wrong.
