So you want to help us deal with space bugs huh? Well, there are plenty of them. Here we will give you some pointers on how to best help us.

How to tell which version you are on?

Bug? "You are at war with my race" (-10 approval): by exterminating another civ the war should end too. The trait remains though.
Leaders recruited from the assign governor list do not get discounts applied so are much more expensive
the tiles with nothing should be replaced by water (fresh or salt)
Do you mean those wasteland tile or do you mean the truly excess tiles? Since space on a planet that is not land would be water, that makes since.
I really wish they would eliminate wasteland tiles.
the "vague" places, which the game later makes it possible to transform into land. currently, the earth goes up in the air. since there was nothing in the place.
I get you. I agree, but no game that I know of does that except for the Civilization series.
Water is an excellent idea - aquatic improvements would balance worlds much more and give them more variety. Could be extended to other world-specific terrain types.
It looks like retrofitting was removed in the current build.
I've been posting for its return since it was removed.
I'm not sure if I've reported this before, but here it is anyway.
I'm playing as the Drath Freehold. When I research Xeno Mysticism, it claims it allows construction of the Social Matrix. It doesn't yet, but I don't consider that to be a problem in this alpha.
The problem is that the Social Matrix is reported to be for Altarians. Since I'm not Altarian, should Altarians be used here? Maybe use Altarians and Drath or maybe something else?
Meteroite should be Meteorite.
There should be a comma after admirers.
Maybe it should say all Ancient races?
Sounds good to me.
Another Drath typo in Command Ships.
itmay should be it may.
Since players seem to be confused about how to tell the status of possible choices on the Ideology Screen, I am providing this example, from an actual game.
Mobility Rights in Liberty has been already selected, i.e. a Culture Point has been spent on it. None of the others have taken/chosen.
The way to tell is non selected ones have a Black Background in the Name Button that gives the name of the Ideology, while the already selected Ideology (Mobility Rights) has a brighter colored background in the Name Button.
The ideologies that you do not have enough choices in to choose them, are the bottom ones that are a lot darker, i.e. Watchful, Conscription, and Dangerous on the Authority (left) side, and Private Ownership and Enterprise on the Liberty (right) side.
You can select (or choose) any of the brightly lit Names that have a black background in the Name Button.
Stuck TurnBug with a Drath command ship.I have a save that reproduces a bug with the Drath command ship Buopoth and a stuck turn.Load the save and go to the next idle ship. There is only one, which is the Drath command ship. It claims it has 100% chance to capture defeated ships.Attack the space monster next to it to see that it defeats the ship but doesn't capture it. Also, there is no animation of missile launches from the command ship.Next, you will have to go to a trade screen. Do whatever you want with that. After finishing with the trade screen, there is nothing to do except to go to the next turn. Do that and the turn will hang after all the AI turns while showing the message "Starting New Week".The save is available here.
Thanks for walking us through the bug you're running into. I've passed this along to the team.
Welcome on board?
Thanks gypsy! I'm the newest producer at Stardock. I was added to the GalCiv team back in November. I came out of the Sins modding community and I'm excited to be here.
I came out of the Avalon Hill and SPI player community and glad for computer games as I get to play games in my retirement. Finding other players for those two company's games was rather difficult.
I had that stuck turn or one similar to it many times in that game. The only thing I could do was close GC4. After restarting GC4 and loading the autosave, I could play the game and continue past where the stuck turn occurred without a problem. This was the first time it kept happening. I knew that was the time to report it and include the save that reproduced it.
I know how much the devs like having a save that reliably reproduces problems like this so the problem can be fixed, and I like having problems like this fixed, so I do my part by furnishing saves like this.
The odd thing is, after making the report, I loaded a save from 11 turns earlier so I could try something I wanted to test. I did a lot of things differently. When I got to the turn where it always stuck, it didn't.
Yes, that will be fixed in the next update
