Can you please make it so fences is always on top of windows applications. I have to close multiple windows or resize the windows to see what's in my fence which is what I want to access. If you're auto hiding fences and want to open a fence it makes sense that the option for the fence to be on top should be possible.
Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried Fences 4 new Peek function?

Originally Fences was never intended to cater for such a feature as it 'did its thing' at the z-order level of the Microsoft-designed-level of 'desktop icons'....that by design MUST be underneath open windows.
Many people [myself included] wanted to see things change somehow so the desktop icons [in a fence] could be seen above open windows, in spite of how Microsoft set it up.
That has now been accomplished with a major rework of Fences.... Fences 4.
It is a significant achievement in GUI customizing of the Windows Shell...
I tried v3 and walked away for this very reason. V4 peek is a step in the right direction - but I'm not quite comfortable with Windows-space_bar - and having to HOLD it. Meaning it takes BOTH hands to launch an app.
Trying to think of ways to have the fences come into view without having to physically HOLD them in view with my finger.
* Double click desktop already toggles hide/show. Maybe an option to EITHER hide/show OR bring-to-front and hold.
* Double click taskbar brings them all to front
* Moving to a hot corner brings them to front. Of course it's easy to accidently do that. So they'd only be in front for 2 seconds OR as long as the pointer was inside any fence. After 2 seconds of not being inside a fence, send to back.
My apologies - I found the sticky (toggle) option. This just might work. Nice work team. Maybe a mouse only way as described above is worth consideration later.
I would like to second the request for the Peek functionality to be available as an ON /OFF setting, not just when having to hold down hotkeys.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried the setting on "Show Fences (Toggle)...".
Thank you,

The fonts on that dialog are SO tiny I missed that last one under Settings. I just tried it and don't understand what it does. The description is logical but the effect seems to be equal to the Show Fenced (toggle) hotkey setting just above. Using that hot key, fences will stay on top - without having to hold down a key. So the setting below that seems redundant. The only difference seems to be the "even when switching apps" part but that does not work.

I have version 4.21 (latest as of this post) and the Settings section does not show up under Hotkeys.
You on Windows 10? If yes, that feature seem not available on Windows 10.

Im on windows 11 and dont have this setting showing under the hotkeys either. Same version. 4.21
My first screenshot (Reply#1) was back in Dec 2021, I am not sure when, but, I believe, that option was removed. Fences will come up front when press the hotkey set in "Access Fences instantly with hotkey". You just need to click any where to send it back again.
