This is something we have addressed for an upcoming build as a number of people have requested it.
Hi
Just wondering what features are coming up and when the next release is expected.
I'd like to start upgrading Windows 10 PCs to Windows 11 but I really want the ability for start 11 to copy the Windows 10 style Start Menu into Start 11 prior to upgrading to W11. I believe Stardock has this facility, or something like it, under consideration for Start11.
Ideally Start11 would be able to re-export its configuration in order to back it up or copy it to another PC. The result of copying a Window 10 style start menu will not always be perfect but as long as Start11 can handle manual removal of defunct tiles it does not matter, to me at least.
I think lack of Start Menu maintenance and migration is a major omission by Microsoft. The manual facility is too limited because it freezes or partially freezes the menu on the target system. It seems only designed for admins to roll out standard desktops.
Hello, i'm having an issue, where having many icons pinned to the task bar makes the start menu not centered when opening it. Is there a workaround for this?
This may or may not be a bug - but it definitely needs to be addressed either way. I've noticed that the font colors of the start menu aren't automatically adapting to their background to provide either white or black text.
I have my entire taskbar and start menu set to transparent and the fonts are white in the start menu. This works wonderfully if the background behind the start menu is dark. But if it's white or a light color the text doesn't adapt and change automatically to black, making it difficult if not impossible to see the text of the menu.
Please address and fix.
I noticed something, the apps/program list (W10 style on W11 22000.318) does not refresh if you uninstalled a program - I'm unsure if this is a W11 problem or a Start11 problem
Have been testing Start11 app on my Windows 11 (Build 22000.318) as I love the Windows 10 start menu design but Windows 11 for the support with upcoming games. Noticed a slight issue when trying to display the weather app with current weather forecast.
I am able to pin the weather app to the start menu but wanted to be able to see the current weather displayed as a start menu tile. I can ping the weather app to the start menu however this is not what I am after.
Have attached a preview of what I have tried and yet nothing is showing in the start menu. Notice I have set to pinned in the app itself but nothing in start menu showing me current weather. Would also be nice to be able to have say a 3/7 day forecast preview if tile is set to large.
Have checked and this was a very widely customisable feature of the weather app on Windows 10 start menu tiles.
I have observed that when full transparency is on there is a thin line still outlining the taskbar. only section that does not have the thin line are the icons where notification is located. The startup or pined taskbar services icons.
In Start11 Windows 10 style, enabling the option "Show app list in start menu" only works when "use fullscreen menu" is off, not when it's on.
