Thanks to everyone that provided feedback.
I ran the update when the dialog (to 1.0) popped up in Windows 10. But the download 'stuck' just before 100% and after several minutes nothing else had happened. So I cancelled the update, ran it from Start11 and it worked fine.I'm not completely sure of the exact sequence of events, unfortunately, but I have seen this before.
I think drag and drop for groups, in Windows 10 style, is excellent at version 1.0.In a previous version it was rather hit and miss, I thought. Now I see that it is in fact a faster and better way of rearranging the groups than 'standard' Windows drag and drop. Many thanks for sticking to the design!
Our tests (earlier today) of what you did went as expected but we had a hic-up post launch where services were down for about 3 minutes - that was likely what you ran into.
Sorry for the trouble.
Problem with Stardock Curtains and Start11 center taskbar options. An update to Curtains is planned to resolve this. When can I expect that to happen? I love Curtains and dont want to uninstall it. I use Windows 10 build 21h1
I am seeing the same problem I had with 0.96. When I click the Start menu I get the view of pages and groups as I arranged them. Once I click off the Start menu or click to open an application and then click the Start menu again it gives me the "All Applications" view. I have to click the "Back <" to see Pages. I put a animated GIF in the reports on 0.96.
Do you have Start11 set to automatically open the all programs list on open?
Well! Danged if I didn't. Guess I never even noticed that setting. It is corrected now. Sorry for taking up your time.
I'm such a ....
Upgraded to 1.0 and in Windows 10 start menu, all the medium tiles that filled the whole tile (windows store) and the ones I used Iconify with have gone back to being a small icon with a label. Is this going to be added back in?
When Start11 start menu is in Full Screen mode it does not show the app list next to the groups of shortcuts even though the "Show App List in start menu" option is selected in settings. Only the groups of shortcuts appear on the start menu and you have to select the app list to view it. The app list does however appear next to the shortcut groups when full screen mode is not selected in settings. Is this a fault in Start11, or is it a feature that could be added? I am running Windows 11, 21H2, Build 22000.282.
This was an experimental feature but you can enable it via the registry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8
Create a value of type REG_SZ called LoadTiles and give it a value of 1
Then sign out and in again.
By 1.1 I expect this will be on by default.
This is how the Windows 10 menu worked in fullscreen mode which is why we work like that.
If there is sufficient demand we could add control to keep it visible always.
I think the plan is either later this week or next week. The update has been made it just needs to be tested.
This is an observation on usability, and a bug (I think)Platform is Windows 10 Pro testing Start11.
Start11 is active and using Windows 10 style Start Menu.Make a web page into an app from Edge.Select 'Pin to Start'
RESULT:Tile appears on Windows 10 Start Menu but not on the Start11 Menu. The tile must be pinned from the Start11 apps list.Start11 does not highlight newly installed apps so finding the new app can be inconvenient (depending on the title).
MISSING FUNCTIONALITY?:"Show recently added apps" is switched on but I do not see them separately on the apps list.
TO CLARIFY:Newly installed Windows applications do appear separately on the Start11 Apps menu. What I am doing here is using 'install this site as an app' from Edge. In that case the new 'app' does not appear and it would be nice if it did.
i hate how i no longer can do this: (Windows key - Right arrow - Enter) to restart my PC.
i could do this in Start10 but not in Start11. in Start11 when i click Windows key - right arrow - Enter, it opens my documents folder...
if this is a new function in Start11, please give us the option in settings.
i was hoping it would get fixed in a Beta version, but as we have now hit 1.0 and i still cant use it like Start10.
at this point i feel like eighter fix Start11 or update Start10 so it can work on Win11, or im gonna shop around for a replacement.
is there possible to make start 11 show only recent documents i have opened? not all disks and folders etc..??? i mean section after pinned items!! and maybe option to right click menu and the menu option "do not show in this list" ??

I am afraid we were unaware of that issue.
We will make sure to investigate it and see whats up with that.
Windows 7 style - search box issues:
- search text is italic. It should be regular (not italic)
- bottom left of the input box is clipping input text. You can see this when you are typing words starting with p or j.
Shift + right click on taskbar is not working anymore with Start11.
Thanks!
Just installed Start11 try-out.
I have Microsoft Wireless ergonomic desktop or some name like that. The mouse has a Windows button. When pressing that, instead of the Start11 menu, Windows Start will open. I am using this button to open Start all the time and it seems your product does not work with it. Lack of that functionality is a showstopper for me.
I like that it is possible to resize your Windows 11 Start menu, but I would like to have app grouping and be able to turn off the Recent.I read that you were offering pages to Start, but I cannot find them. I need a more advanced Windows 11 Start to have me update to Windows 11. Start11 is currently not delivering that, I feel. Microsoft Launcher on Android is very versatile, maybe you can go that direction. As for the Taskbar, I would prefer to have the Start button in the center always and be able to organize apps around it, including shortcuts to defined Virtual Desktops of choice.
Hello,
Big issue for power users.
Activating Start 11 gets rid of my entire, well-crafted and sorted start menu. Also, centering the menu in the middle of the screen doesn't work. Installed via Object Desktop

Hey boss,
Allow us to drag documents into programs on the taskbar. Windows 11 disabled this feature.
Looking forward to you guys re-implementing it.
