With the release of RC4 (0.95), we are closing this thread.
Thanks to all that installed and provided vital feedback.
Huge list of added features and fixes, everything working perfectly this end.
Very grateful for this functionality having been added:
No longer have disappearing task bar icons either. Great release, thanks for all the work!
Unfortunately after some time disappearing task bar icons, that redraw when you mouse over appear to still be happening. I don't lock/unlock my PC and haven't noticed any correlation with when it occurs.
Wanted to document some of my carry-over issues from RC2 still present in RC3:
Start 11 on Windows 10 version 21h1 OS Build 19043.1288
This has been an issue with each beta of Start 11, including today's update 0.93. If I purge Start 11 with the purge_start11.bat file, then install any start 11 version, I can get the taskbar icons centered on the task bar. However, after the computer is restarted, the taskbar icons revert to the left side position. This includes restarting the computer directly after installing each version on top of the previous version. Once this happens, there is no way to re-center the icons. Trying to change their position with the configuration utility fails over and over again. Purging and reinstalling works. But, then I must re-configure Start 11 all over again. Is this only a problem for me? A separate Center Taskbar utility, that I found on github, works flawlessly. But, with this supposedly built into Start 11, I ought not have to depend on yet another application in order to center the taskbar icons........
- System tray icons still disappearing with "custom start button image" turned off.
- Still a problem with Battlefield V/1, when you run or aim it stops all of a sudden, works fine without Start11 installed.
- Start menu not opening sometimes when you click the start button.
I am not seeing a move "tiles to next page" option when using Win10 theme. The option is still present with Win11 theme and can move items to next page. But when I try to move items to previous page an error saying can not find "movepreitem11" pops up
Two finger mouse scrolling works! Thank you! Thank you! This product makes Windows 11 livable! I will recommend to everyone I know! (I know the thread is for bugs.. but you guys deserve some love!)
I have a 3 monitor setup. The monitors are numbered by Windows as 1:3:2. Monitor 3 is my main monitor and has the Start button centered in a taskbar at the bottom. When I click the Start button, it loads the Start Menu in the center of Monitor 2. I have included an image below containing part of Monitor 3 and Monitor 2 to demonstrate this.
On the Windows 10 Style start menu, folders in the program/app list remain collapsed even after closing the start menu and reopening it. For example, when I scroll down to the Windows Accessories folder and open/collapse it, I would expect the folder to be closed the next time I open the start menu. Instead, when I open the start menu again and scroll to the Windows Accessories folder, the folder is already collapsed and I can see everything inside of it.
Is this by design?
Bonjour,
Sous windows 11 pro build 22000.282 - start 11 rc 3 - style windows 10 - Lors survol avec la fleche de la souris, des icones épinglées le texte n apparait pas sur toutes les icones
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 21H2 (OS build 22000.282)
Start11 version 0.93, Windows 10 Style
Issue:
As reported previously, the start menu pop-up when using the mouse to click the start button will still often times automatically close itself. It takes a couple of tries to have the start menu pop-up stay open. Same thing on fresh reboots. Below is a gif demonstration of the issue.

Using Start11 version 0.93 on Windows 11 Home.
On a clean desktop nothing happens when clicking on the start button (regardless of menu style).
If I open another program window - it suddenly works. Closing the open program window and it doesn't anymore. I can open the start menu by pressing the windows key and I can access the windows start menu with Ctrl+Click.
It worked fine in previous beta versions.
With your battlefield issue, does this continue if you set Use the Start11 start menu to off in Start11 settings (on the start menu page).
Also what if you run battlefield in a window?
Finally do you have Start11 search enabled or disabled?
I assume you are not using anything else to alter your button positions as that would cause a conflict?
Like some others have pointed out, on .93 my start menu also doesn't open when clicking, but does when pressing the Windows button. Thought it was a corrupted install or something but I reinstalled a couple times to no avail
What is your monitor configuration?
Do you have a secondary monitor to the left of the primary?
What is your monitor configuration?Do you have a secondary monitor to the left of the primary?
I do indeed, 1 ultrawide primary and a flipped portrait secondary to the left. Taskbar only on primary monitor
Thats good then as we have sorted that internally for an update later today.
Sorry about the problem.
Thank you for the report. There is an issue with short text not showing a tooltip correctly.
This has been resolved internally for the next update.

Are you using a custom start button (and if so which one) and are your buttons centred or left aligned?
Do you have a custom start button image and if so which one and if not are you left aligned or centred taskbar buttons?
Correct. I run other Stardock software.... Curtains, Groupy, Window Fx. But, I would not expect these programs to cause such an issue.
Just wanted to point out that the start menu issue is not only present when using a multi monitor setup. I turned my secondary monitor off (located to the right) and restarted Windows. Still the same issue when pressing the start button (no start menu appears).
Also, if I display a taskbar on my secondary monitor and press the start button on the secondary screen - the start menu opens.
