I've noticed about having the taskbar on top is that the Windows 11 "Quick Settings" flyout seems to cut off at the top as shown in the picture. Will there be fix?
Curious... As a test, if you set the PC language to English (or any other language for that matter), and try again, is it still messed up?
Has anyone else experienced this bug/issue?
Windows 10 Home 21H1 19043.1288:
Windows 11 Style - PC Freezes and Reloads When Clicking Start Button while on "All applications" of Start Menu
Using the Windows 11 style start menu:
When I click "All apps>" and then click the Start button on the taskbar (while still on the "All applications" screen), Start11 locks up/freezes computer for a bit (mouse icon changes to blue circle), taskbar icons disappear, and then everything reloads (similar to what happens when you restart explorer.exe)
Installation of Microsoft Store App Suite did not create Folder in Start11 Menu - All Apps
Installation of the new Sysinternals Suite from the Microsoft Store created a Sysinternals Suite folder in the Microsoft Start Menu - All Files under S so that all of the individual app links were grouped together.Snip showing the folder and just the A app links:
But Start11 did not create the Sysinternals folder at all and instead just created the individual links to the individual apps all scattered about alphabetically. The app links are not grouped together under a Sysinternals folder as was intended.
Snip showing some of the app links under A.
RC2Windows 11Start11 Menu 11 style
When using Small Taskbar size, it only affects the primary monitor (right). My secondary monitor's taskbar size doesn't change.
Does the latest Start11 support build 22000.258?
I changed the style to windows 10 menu. There is no apply button. Nothing changed. Start11 software is just like an empty template that's all. Restarted pc also not helping.
When opening the Start11 menu (regardless of which style) I can't navigate the way I used to do with the arrow keys. Behavior: I'll have to press either left or right, which makes it jump to the second item on the right panel before I can navigatie any further.Expected/preferred behavior: Press the down key, which will select the top item in the left panel, like it used to do in Start10
If we uninstall Start11 0.91 and we changed the taskbar size, when we reboot, the taskbar size has not been given back its original size, which means that the time/date is cut off and icons are not levelled anymore. Everything looks weird. Either a fix would be great or inform users that they need to resize the taskbar to its original size BEFORE uninstalling Start11.
Reinstall Start11 and set things back and you should be fine.
But yes given it looks bad without Start11 it should prompt to reset defaults.
Windows 11, 21H2, with another window in focus (have tried browser and folder so far), start menu pops up and immediately pops back down. Clicking a second time causes the menu to pop up and stay up. Possible setting issues: I have auto-hide on and the start menu on the left side.
It's intermittent, unfortunately, so while it may happen with the start button in the middle, I haven't observed it.
After the taskbar is aligned at the top and then set to the bottom alignment, the window list (not the jump list) is still at the top.
If you restart the computer does this continue to be a problem?
Which menu style are you using?
yes
This appears to be related to auto-hide. If I turn it off, the odd behavior stops. If I turn it on and another window is in focus, the popup-popdown happens again.
I'm using auto-hide as a preventative measure so I don't have any persistent graphical elements on an OLED screen.
On the Start11 main page, four modes are offered with a dropdown menu below each preview icon. May I suggest that, if there are no more dropdown items to add, settings be exposed directly so that there's one less mouse click and one less movement? Maybe a gear to the right of the title or something. Without multiple options, the dropdown seems extraneous.
I am using the windows 11 menu style. I haven't tried the other styles yet.
I'm hoping you are able to implement the vertical taskbar soon.
I am pleased to say this is resolved for the next update.
It seems the native Windows 10 menu on Windows 10 also shows them scattered everywhere so looks like Win11 had a specific fix for such a case.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Same problem, seems to happen when you turn off "Use a custom start button image", doesn't happen when you turn it on.
Which version of Windows 11 are you using? Dev channel, release?
We have resolved an issue internally for an update which may help this as sometimes things would not be centred.
Things will obviously not be centred if the buttons fill the entire width on any line obviously.
Yes, not enough buttons yet to fill the entire width.
