Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't find a way to actually pin anything to the start menu. It only lets me pin apps that show up in the alphabetical list but that is severely lacking and doesn't show all of my installed software and shortcuts.
Will it be possible to add customized shortcuts from anywhere in the future? I was expecting them to have the same functionality as regular shortcuts, i.e. parameters, like in the Windows 10 start menu
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. You can use Window Explorer and browse to that application "xxx.exe" . Right click on it-> Show more option -> Pin to Start11.
Hope that help.

Ohhhh. That makes more sense. I didn't realize there was a new context menu entry, thank you!
To expand a bit. Edge and Chrome allow one to pin a weblink to the start menu. When that feature is used with Win 11, it pins the link to the Windows 11 start menu. Can one pin the shortcut to Start 11?
That option does not appear in the context menu for me.

So I was able to pin a Chrome shortcut to a webpage to the Start11 start menu.
There is also a context menu item for pinning folders
Hope this helps
As of October, 2023, the "Pin File" option still only appears on the Windows 10 and Windows 11 style menus. Right-clicking on and empty spot in the Modern style menu (my much preferred menu style) only shows one option: Configure Start11...
Can we expect that a more robust right-click menu, including the "Pin File" and "Pin Folder" options, will be forthcoming for the Modern style start menu? Alternately, I wouldn't mind seeing the "Pin to Start11" option show up in more regular right-click menus, such as regular document and image files, folders, and URI/URL links. These can all be added to the desktop but not to Start11 (at least not easily).
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. From what I know, Windows 7 and Modern style don't have pin to Start11 option since it was design to work like the old actual Windows 7 Start menu.
However, I have forwarded your request to the Stardock Support Team for their review and recommendations. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We really do appreciate your feedback, Thanks
