The start menu seems to confuse icons, I have icons switching around, and i restore them by resizing
Is this the Windows 11 style menu when you drag & drop to rearrange them, or some other issue?
The issue with the Win11 menu sometimes rearranging icons incorrectly when dragging them to reorder them is resolved internally so an update should fix that next week.
this is the windows 10 style menu
Cannot run Windows store apps like PowerShell as Administrator with Right Click Menu.
When you right click on the windows store PowerShell (7.1.4) icon in Start11 you do not get the More option in the menu or the run as Administrator option. This works correctly in the Windows 11 Start Menu.
Paint which is now a store app also does not have the option to run as Administrator in the Start11 right click menu but does have the option in the Windows 11 start menu.
This is on either the Win 10 or 11 style menus.Windows 11 Home - 21H2 - 22000.194
An easily reproducible issue that I just saw: I have the Windows 7 style menu configured. When I click on "Start", and then, in the "Search programs and files", I type "appwiz.cpl", the caret gets positioned incorrectly (as evident from the attached screenshot). A slight shift happens, so it would seem, with any typed character apart from lowercase 'f'.By the way, would it be possible to make the font in that textbox configurable? The italic style is, honestly, less to my taste.
Hello I am French Canadian so my comment will be a Google translation. I also have a missing icon for Edge, I have to format my laptop and reinstall Star11 but the problem is still present. Also there are translation problems when I pin a program sometimes it is in English but my pc is in french . Also some programs are missing in the files but I also believe that it can come from windows. I would like the tile icons to be bigger in windows 10 mode and the description (fonts) to be smaller if possible, but stay larger in the menu .
Thank you very much for this software, I hate the windows 11 menu.
The missing icon for edge is a bad shortcut Microsoft have left in the OS. We have filtered this out in future updates. You should see the correct Microsoft edge in the list with an icon too.
Translations are coming for hopefully 1.0. I believe the translation work is being carried out as we speak (well type).
There is a problem in the current build that anything thats a url link such as Steam games will not be shown in the all apps list for the Windows 10/11 styles. This is resolved for the next update.
When enabling the custom button and multiple screen taskbar at once the taskbar ceases to function:
Ok merci !
And if it can help
I found a file where there are applications and the one in English that I could put in French; He had other doubles of shortcuts that I had it. Here is the link and replace *** by your username and copy in the bar from above your C: \ Users \ ********* \ AppData \ Roaming \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Quick Launch \ User Pinned.
Also to see this folder you need to click Visual in the options and show the files protected by the system then uncheck the "hidden" cache in the properties of the folders.
I am using an app called traffic monitor to display my download speeds, it works fine with start 11 until I use the custom button, when a custom start button is used the overlay disappears
This is a known issue with setups with 3 or more monitors.
I am please to say it is resolved internally and an update this week will contain the fix.
For now disabling the custom start button will avoid the problem,
FWIW, I am a new user (as of today.. I absolutely HATE the new start menu, and wanted to get some of what I had back with Windows 10). The one annoying thing I see is that I am on a Surface Laptop and I am addicted to using two finger scrolling. This does not work in Start 11.. I have to actually click the little scrollbar to scroll. It's an annoyance, but for the moment I have just about everything on one screen.
Thanks for this wonderful product!
Jay
Check out my temporary fix, and make sure your menu button is set to the LEFT:
Worked perfectly.. Thanks!
OK so after the update to beta 0.9, the built-in search feature no longer works. It always returns blank results.
Thank you! I couldn't figure out what the issue was for the life of me. It is whenever I connect my third monitor! Thanks for the upcoming fix.

Sometimes when I click on the start button, the menu pops up, then down again in a single click.
I am pleased to say two finger scrolling should be supported in the update coming this week.
Running windows 11 Insider Preview build 22471.
After upgrading start11 to the latest build, the clock and notification area are missing from the taskbar.
I can get them back by removing and reinstalling start11, but this is a lower build obviously. After installing the update that it prompts to download when checking for updates (0.90), the clock and notification area disappear again.
After doing some testing, this only occurs if a custom image is used for the start button. Disabling the custom image restores the clock and notification area.
If you turn off the custom start button option does it fix itself?
As edited into my post above, yes....turning off the custom start button option restores the clock and notification area.
dunno if it was reported, there's no Run as Administrator for certain apps
OK, so to update my previous post - it appears that sometimes the search results are blank. Now, they are not TRULY blank - if I press the down key they magically appear; if I press the enter key, it automatically opens the first result. But it APPEARS blank until I press the down arrow key. This therefore appears to be a bug.
Hi, I'm also noticing the menu is only pulling icons from the .exe that a shortcut links to, if the shortcut has specified a custom icon in its properties it's being ignored by Start11. An example is Discord which actually links to an 'Update.exe' but pulls its icon from other resources.
Thanks.
Thank you, that is very useful information as blank search had me scratching my head, but results just not showing makes more sense if a paint request got lost somewhere.
This has been reported by another user and this should be resolved for the update this week.
Basically store apps were missing this as most store apps don't allow running as admin, but some like terminal do.
