Just purchased Start11 and while I like it better than the default Windows 11 start menu, I'd like to go back to my Windows 10 style, just without live tiles. I like the ability to have organized programs in groups rather than just a jumble of pinned and recently accessed programs. Is there any plan to implement some kind of organization like Windows 10 start menu?
Hello,
I have forwarded your report to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations.
Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates.
We really do appreciate your feedback, thanks.

I installed the .55 beta, I'm not seeing a difference so far. What setting are you suggesting?
Yeah, I am kinda hoping for a near complete clone of the Windows 10 start menu in Start11...
Whoever designed the start menu in Windows 11 should be fired out of the same cannon into the sun as the person who took the start button away in Windows 8...
I agree. I was really hoping that Start11 would give me something very similar to the Windows 10 start menu. Going back to the Windows 7 start menu is better than the waste of space of the new Windows 11 start menu but Windows 10 was really good. Thanks.
Completely agree. I belatedly started using the Windows 10 Start Menu tiles about a year ago and have not looked back. It is a superb interface despite needing an update with smaller tiles and the ability easily to copy the tile layout to other machines.Extremely disappointed that my own vast (think 32" UHD monitor filled with tiles) carefully organised start menu, including its custom tiles to access various web sites, has to go when I install Windows 11, which I really want to do. So, Stardock, please help!
(Currently trying the latest Beta of Start 11)
With Windows 11 now actually out I've been looking for a way to get the Windows 10 start menu back only to find a regedit thing that no longer works and this I did see in the screenshots gallery there is a Windows 10 like start menuThis one to be exact is this even available yet? I don't see it in the newest beta Thanks!
That is coming later this week.
One question will you be able to set it up just like Windows 10 and make it load custom icons?Like thisThanks
For this weeks build, no.
But in future builds it may well be possible.
What method are you using to customise those on Windows 10?
Further to my previous & in answer to the above question
To create custom Windows 10 start menu tiles I use 'Install site as an app' from Microsoft Edge and a utility called Edge Tile Creator (not perfect but it works)
I am using this https://github.com/Jonno12345/TileIconifier/releasesIt allows for fully custom icons for basically everything Steam games, programs and much more before updating I had a bunch of custom icons without the names enabled.
I'm looking forward to this menu. This was my old Windows 10 menu, and I would love to use it again.
Actually, my Start11 menu looks like this. It doesn't look that nice.
Maybe you could add a setting to disable the titles of the icons? Or hopefully you could release a theme that looks like the Windows 10 menu a bit more.
There are a huge number of changes I think you will like in todays update.
Should be out later today.
That said the extra compact Win10 style without the apps list on the side isn't an option for now, but I will make sure we add that in.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for this update, it looks great!
2 things.
1) If you choose small for the taskbar size it works great on the first monitor, but the second still has a medium bar with small icons. It looks off.
2) I'd love to put the clock back on my second monitor as well. Helps when I'm gaming full screen and still want to see the time.
Looking good!
Thanks to the team for listening. The latest Windows 10 Start Menu option is great!
Hi,
I also need the ability to organize programs in groups.
Above all, I would need the ability to display the Start Menu Full Screen.
I have used these 2 features in Windows 10 for many years now. I could not do without them.
If your application allowed me to organize programs in groups, and display the Start Menu Full Screen, I would be prepared to buy it for a price.
Thank you for considering these tweaks to Windows 11.
By groups you mean allowing a tile in the WIn10 look to be a folder containing multiple tiles?
The fullscreen option is coming in this weeks update.
By groups I mean the ability to arrange and group applications on the Windows 10 Start Screen in Full Screen mode. I understand this is a very personal choice, but it suits me, and it is a real possibility in Windows 10. It is displayed with a single press on the Windows Key on the keyboard. Here is a screen capture:
You can already have groups in Start11 with the Win10 menu style.
What you cannot have for now is folders where a tile can expand to become more tiles.
I should also mention our menu currently shows the all programs list on the left. This is on the list to move to an option like it is on Win10 (and I think the default in Win10 fullscreen mode)
Start 11 version 0.91.
Using the W10 style start menu it is not possible to drag a group to a new location.
If I try to drag a group then all the groups change to just the title and some, not all, of their icons.Layout is restored on releasing the mouse button.
It is possible to move things but it isn't as obvious as it should be.
We have made changes to this area for the next update which should make it easier to use and more flexible as well.
Right now basically you drag your mouse over existing groups and then thats where the new group goes and the others get moved around.
I'm also looking to be able to change the icon, or tile background, as others have replied here...hoping to get closer to something like this:
Will custom tile creation/backup/restore be an option? If so, then you've got another customer.
(A horizontally-scrolling, parallaxed, unlimited-column-width, Windows 8.x Start option would be wonderful.)
