Technological Singularity cannot be researched - or rather, can be researched multiple times.
So far I have managed to research it three times without actually "getting" it - it just reappears as a technology choice. I'm using research missions in multiple shipyards to speed up research.
About 9ish hour into this game and I am stuck on "Unknown civilization 12" not loading/finishing their turn. The program doesn't crash it just hangs there forever. Attached my save file and a screenshot below. I can confirm that I am on version 0.55.194342a

I'm into my 5th game with the .55 version and have yet to find a single planet wit the techapod hive.
Orb of Draginol: some hints if the player is strong enough to open the pocket universe would be nice. Maybe add more steps: white anomaly -> yellow -> red (precursor) -> pocket universePirates / space monsters 20+ movement points: maybe I need to get used to it. But right now I do not like it. In my opinion sensor range of exploration ships should be higher than the movement of pirates and you should not lose your ships if you are careful (move your ships step by step).Good: The change of dialogues in regards of ideology changes (increase/decrease to).Planets (owner, name, income): maybe move the layer down. I would like ships/fleets above planet descriptions.
What difficulty are you playing on? I haven't seen this, all my pirates/monsters are limited to 4 moves.

Thank you for your reply.I play on godlike. It is my first GalCiv game on this level and my first 0.55 game. I thought it was changed by V. 0.55.Balance of godlike is not a major topic but maybe rather increase hp/attack values of pirates instead of the movement points.
I'm playing on normal, so that explains it. I suspect that so far the difficulty buffs for the AI are the same as for GC3, hopefully they will be revisited.
I have a hung game that is repeatable. It's a new game started with alpha 0.55.194342a. I have a save just before the hang that is available here.
After loading the game, go to the next turn, then respond to the report about the contrace traders. The game will hang during the Manti Cluster turn.
NOTE
The game was just updated to 0.55.194342b. The save still hangs.
Too many special actions: when starting the game the "special actions" were neatly arranged in two rows, four on the bottom row, three on the row above, and showed tool tips and were selectable.
After restarting the game and loading the saved game the seven actions are in one row, but only the right-most five can be selected or show tool tips, the two left-most do not react.
I have the same issue, I really wish there was a way to open a debug menu in game or better debug logging. I know my fair share about programing and could do a better job figuring out what the issue is on my own. I mean, yes I could stacktrace the assembly to figure out the line of code that is causing the issue but not what I'd want to put my time and recourses into if the only thing I need would be better verbosing (Logging from the game). And I hope I don't get banned for trying to help out...

Best I can come up with is that its something either in the Manti Cluster race that is causing an issue something today with battles.
What are your orders? should be What is your answer?
Turn should be Week on the planet screen. If it's more than one week and plurals are used, then Turns should be Weeks.

Just achieved a prestige victory!
It was far too fast. I had barely begun to interact with aliens, and presumably won due to lots of starbases, pirate victories and colonies?
I love the improvement to Ideology - you can see the impact of your decisions now. Most of the traits are pretty dull though, and control points are too hard to come by.
I personally love the commander ships. Good variety and better than the Bazaar.
I am having problems zooming and with sticky tooltips.
I don't know if I have set it up badly, but there is always one resource I can't find - promethium this time. Is it worth seeding one of each to each sector?
Same with planets. There are too many class 1-3, with very few 10 or higher.
I find that the events from anomalies come in clumps of the same event, and there is far too little variety.
Some key resources are impossible to find. I can never find Technopods, which are critical to economic starbases.

The Drengin are far too easy to kill. I just used the same scout fleet I was using on guarded anomalies and trounced them. Logistics was only at 25.
On that note, unlimited ship upgrades seems heavily overpowered.
Re the numerous freezing problems noted above during another player's turn - I think that sometimes diplomatic messages (or decisions, as someone above noted) cause the problem. In my case, I finally got the game to work when I contacted the AI (Iconia) whose turn it was and took an action (declare war). Then, the game proceeded. I went back and tried again, and this time saw a screen flash that immediately disappeared saying that the current player was complaining about my ships being in their space and was able to then get the game to proceed without declaring war. Curiously, the initial freeze repeatedly occurred on turn 333, but the next real day after a fresh PC start the game made it to turn 338 before the freeze happened during Iconia's turn, followed by the fix stated above.
Torins: I had carbon based life forms living and eating on my planets and lots of raw food. Why couldn't I let them build farms? How come my barren starting planet had 8 food? It's barren.
All: It seems weird that if I want to exploit a resource, I can't do it on a colony. Food needs to be exploited where it is found -canning and other stuff does not increase food supplies. Mineral resources also need to be mined on their source worlds, but can be processed elsewhere. So, if I have a colony with food, I need to make sure it gets sent to a planet with farms or farmers or irrigation {how does irrigation on the core world help increase the raw food stuff coming from off world?}, minerals to a world with factories (OK that makes sense), but we send mines to asteroids but don't build mines or farms on colonies. And, what about the unexploitable resources on the colonies that can't be improved - or even seen by those living on the colony?
My game ended about 10 turns after fixing the problem when an unknown AI won. I could not determine who actually won - a civ I knew or an unknown civ. Given that I had 995 Ascension points, more science than anyone else that I knew and yet did not have even the medium ship tech or many other advanced techs, it was disconcerting that the game ended this way. (Way too soon and not knowing what happened.) So, now awaiting v0.60.

Had the same issue. Scored a Prestige Victory on Turn 285 (game set for everything at slowest pace). I had only met 3 other civilizations. Every time I load a save game after, it greats me with the prestige victory again.
Same issue. Slowest paced game turn 373. Can't see which AI player is hanging the game, but definitely stuck. Exiting and reloading doesn't help. Loading an older save and playing to same turn results is same hang.
Happy to provide save game file if easier way to do that. Dropbox and Discord have both been compromised by hackers and I won't use either one.
Same here. Often have to click somewhere else to remove an earlier popup and then hover over what I want to see again.
