Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 a better product.
I have the same issue, and did on version .5. There is no way in Settings to replace the Start11 icon. I have a good Windows XP start button I like to use, among others, and can't.
Using Start11 with Win 11 21H12 22000.160 and ExplorerPatcher (https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher
Also clicking the Start button display the open animation twice.

I know that it's may not be directly Start11's fault but since OpenShell doesn't have the bug it guess it may be the taskbar tweaks of Start11 (and they could be disabled).
As a test can you try this :
In regedit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell\Update\Packages
and add a DWORD value called UndockingDisabled if it doesn't exist and then set the value to 1 and then sign out and in again.
This will make Start11 think you are on Windows 10.
Does this fix it?
Obviously only do this if you are happy to edit the registry.
UndockingDisabled breaks a lot a things, cf. http://www.classicshell.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8580#p36468 (Features that remain broken [...] if you use UndockingDisabled Registry value)
ExplorerPatcher exists to do the same thing without the nasty side effects.
Microsoft will add UndockingDisabled but not in 22000.xxx
Because UnlockingDisabled will enabled Windows 10 interface.

Start 11 "new" beta Install keeps do looping me back to install new beta. Even bought it again under another name. Still won't install.
Uninstall Start11.
Reboot.
Ensure you have downloaded the 0.55 version of Start11. It is in your downloads on the store. Do not reuse the installer you were initially given, make sure you download a new one.
Install the 0.55 release. All should be well again.
Searching for Programs in Start11 does not work at all.
When I search for example for "Word", nothing is found. This way Start11 is unusable.
Whilst search seems to be working for most, we have had the occasional report of this. There is an update coming out next week overhauls the search system considerably so I have good confidence this will not be a problem for you in that version.
Win 11 version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.194
Start11 0.55
I entered 30 menu lines when I installed Start11. That was too many. It goes off the screen. I can't find any way to change it in the settings.
Also, If you right-click an icon in File Explorer it says "Start 10" instead of "Start 11". But it does work.
With Start11 v0.55 (and 0.5) if Windows7 Style is set as default and allocate room for at least 50 icons (or 25, or anything) but you have choose to have extra columns, lets say 8 columns in tiles split. Then with 25 Icons selected in allocate room I've got room for about 100 icons (I like that, is just as many us the apps use most).-But the problems with columns and total icons are with the Modern style start menu. Even if I choose 50 icons in allocate room for columns, it only get just 3 columns more than before (total 72 icons in tiles, + one column under neath, but can't see the tiles). So with Windows7 Style I can get total about 22 columns with 8 Tiles each. But with Modern Style I can get only 8 columns with 8 Tiles each.Is possible to fix it? Or is it possible to add Windows 10 Style menu? Thanks
Crash: Clicking the back button in Settings when it's grayed out.
Nit/Enhancement: Navigate to Windows settings > Accessibility > Visual Effects > and set Animation effects to off. Start11 doesn't respect SPI_GETCLIENTAREAANIMATION (animation effects) so continues to animate various UI elements/surfaces.
Bug: Clicking Start11 settings > Taskbar > Adjust taskbar transparency > Settings resets the default value (85%) to (50%). (You may need to Reset your custom value beforehand to reproduce.)
The Start11 app icon is displayed twice in the "All Programs" menu, once by itself and once in a separate folder.
I am pleased to say this is addressed for next weeks build.
This has been implemented for next weeks build.
For menu animation itself we have an in app setting but the in settings animations respect that setting.
This is resolved for next weeks build. Thanks for bug reports.
You should be able to adjust the menu lines under settings. In 0.55 you click the change what the menu should show link.
That said it should automatically clip based on screen size but we will investigate why it isn't doing that for you.
The Start10 text is a known issue in 0.55 as the file that handed clipping was copied directly from Start10.
Thanks for reporting issues.
Next weeks build changes things considerably including the addition of a Windows 10 style menu.
Thats sounds fantastic! Great news, Thanks
Taskbar size can't be adjusted (which was a feature I saw in the announcement). Hopefully it is in the release next week. I tried StartIsBack and the taskbar size can be adjusted back to small. But I already bot Start11.
The announcement relates to the build from next week not the 0.55 build you currently have.
