I uninstalled 3.09, rebooted and reinstalled and still got the explorer message again. Never had this problem until 3.13. No more fences for the time being. Don't feel like fiddling with it.

I asked above whether a maintenance build would soon be with us and whether in the meantime a link to an older, more functional version of Fences would be provided (for those who lack an installer for such a version). Unless I miss something, no answers to those questions have been provided. Please provide them.
We have some pent-up fixes for minor \ cosmetic issues but nothing to do with crashing or prompting. If those are your issues, we would much prefer to resolve them over offering a prior version.

Settings corruption disadvantage (bug+suggestion)
Today something strange was heppens( Just after switching off and on PC), it start show me messege that Fences was found that explorrer wasn't shut down in propriet way last time (and it might happens here - because oftern electisity failures happens). So as safaty measure Fences was temporary turned off. To turn it on - I should right click on Desktop and choose "turn Fences on"
So, when you do this action.. it like trying 'uploading' (all icons dissapeared and all windows elements), but then it show me same this message again and again. And rebooting system don't work too.. So I feel only one way to restart it properly -> reinstallation
So, I at first turned off Fences startup at Autostart, then unistalled software(without manual settings), and then purged. After that, I installed it again. Looks like it works okay. So I decided to restore my manual settings. And when I do it - it start show me same message :/
Looks like it was somehow corrupt some settings and it 'stuck'. So, I found that few last autosaved settings was corrupt somehow (probably when I turned off PC).. so my proposiion for future updates is in case if this allert appeares.. that means that system understand that something goes wrong and currupted inside it - so it should give ability to reset settings (additional button) to default condition. So users no need to 'dance' with reinstallation processes so many(and rebooting PC) times just to understand the reason. So next time in same situation user will not have stuck in same way, but be able fast bring it to working default condition.

What about the issues with displayfusion compabilities?I mean, if the version 3.09 was working fine for some, why not giving an option to download it?
What he might be saying is that giving you an earlier version to solve problems is not gonna happen, but he is more than willing to work with you to make the current and future versions work for you & everyone else.

If you have an issue with DisplayFusion, please create a new thread for it with as much detail as possible (video \ screenshots) with steps to reproduce it.
Post a screenshot of the version of Fences that you have installed, please - its on the About tab in the Fences UI.
I'm still having the issue where I never know where new desktop icons are going to go. Some times they are on the correct desktop, sometimes not. This is with a fresh install of Windows 10 21H1 and a fresh install of Fences 3.13 from Steam. Is there a fix to this? It's driving me nuts. Is there a link to the prior version that I can download and not be prompted to update all the time? When is the next update planed to address the numerous issues with 3.13?? Should I open a support ticket??
Pro-tip: always keep the current version and prior version of all software downloads so you can go back to the previous version if the current version has issues. I had kept Fences v3.09 and was able to go back to it when v3.13 was not working properly for me (no text in folder fences).
Pro-tip: I bought it on Steam.

Since this update when I'm browsing folder in a folder portal I sometime get a crash of the explorer... if that I happen, Fence will be disabled, If I try to re-enable it, Explorer crash instantly... The only one way to fix it is to uninstall fence will all my setting, reboot, reinstall fence, reboot and manualy remake all my config....
It's a painfull and long process each time...
So I plan to restore old version for now. You should find a way to won't require a lot of reboot each time we change fence version.You should also try to fix performance issues (lag during fade-out fade-in on double click on desktop or lag on icons replacement animations.

After I created a folder portal (a simple one, without anything under It) and restarted my Windows, Fences keep crashing with the message that Explorer was not closed properly. Without any folder portal It works.I've tried reinstall several times, and a purge.bat that I've found.Any kind of help will be appreciated.Install via Steam. Does the crash happen with the same folder portal(s) every time... or no... It can \ will happen with every one of them?
If the former, are any files in them sync'd with OneDrive or any other cloud service? If those files are temporarily moved out of said Fences, does it fix it?
Regardless if any cloud service sync'ing is happening, if you move every file, one by one, to another location (another folder in the same portal for example), and moving a particular one solves the problem, what is unique about it (weblink, crazy large file, something)?

3.1.3.3 is the latest version
Don't get me wrong, but yes... Will be a pain. Because It's working now and I know the problem lies in one folder. But there I have lots of folders, links, files.I'm not runing any kind of sync under It.We can't access a error.log or something like that?

I have a similar problem to above. I abandoned FENCES reluctantly some years back - though I really liked it - but it seemed to slow my boot time. Anyhow - reinstalled latest version and really pleased to find I could flip between desktops using Pages - a great feature as I have three distinct areas of life I wanted to tidy up.
When I boot up, there is nothing on screen except my wallpaper. So no folders, no shortcuts and no fences either. Fortunately, the fences program icon is there on my taskbar. When I click that there's a delay - then my icons and folders and fences appear eventually. Plus the configure fences box.
