Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Fences a better product.
I did everything exactly as you instructed.
With completely reset and trying to re-create some pages to be switched - the performance didn't seem to be that bad, but it all gets killed by a new visual glitch: when I start dragging between pages - fonts start having problems (they fade into the background, as other people showed above, which causes annoying flickering when switching pages). When I tried to rebuild my snapshot with 5 pages already set up (~3-4 fence on each) - the performance is back to the horrible performance I originally described. Seems like all of these are minor things, but I wouldn't complain at all if 3.0.9 didn't work properly. In total, considering the patch at the beginning of August, I've reinstalled Fences 6 times already and EVERY time 3.0.9 works fine and the new versions cause problems. So, please inspect the updated code of your renderer - there is clearly something wrong there.
In Windows, do you have HDR enabled? If so and you disable it, does it then work?

No, I have not.
Please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please STOP THIS UPDATE POPUP!!!
Now it even pops up when I was in the middle of an online game. I think it's totally unacceptable to force updates when I decide to stay on the latest stable version. (3.0.9)
This is the 3rd (and last) time I ask you kindly to show me how to toggle updates off.
Turning off any update notice has always been an available option to you...

THX!
I never was aware that there was a .bat file to simply toggle updates.
Yes, that is the issue, Fences need all your desktop icons/shortcut etc physically inside your desktop folder, sync it to OneDrive will make that happened. There were few reports on this and the only solution is to bring back those icons into your desktop folder and disable OneDrive Desktop Sync.Thank you,Basj,Stardock Community Assistant
Thanks ... I know that was one of my issues but that doesn't change the issue Fences was having with the application not recognizing that icons were on the desktop and then placing fences right on top of them. That was a Fences issue, not an issue with shortcuts. I'm back up and running now, so I'm good but this upgrade was a colossal PITA.
This release still insists on greeting me every morning telling me there's a new update to install when there isn't.
Even the Check For Updates function in the About menu of the main program confirms that I'm on the current release (3.1.3.3) but an annoying window pops up every day nonetheless. How do I turn it off?
is the issue with wallpaper engine solved in this new update or we are getting the same problems and the same bullshit responses from the support as we did last time?
As stated in the 1st post in this very thread, yes:

And thank you for the constructive criticisms, TheZerg1989.
6) Spontaneous change position of folded Fences near bottom edge of the screenBug. Another strange behave of closed (folding) Fences nearby desktop edges. Some of them for some reason don't save their position as should and moved away from borders by yourself after each restart system. So I should place them to previous place again and again. On image you can see where it was placed, and (by arrows) where it should be. It's happens on few different screens. And almost all of glitched position Fences was near bottom of the screen (no one at the top). And should be important too. They have shifted exactly on the same level as it have container size in unfolding conditionP.S: for me not hepled any tricks with alligning turning on and off for stick to the boders(in settings). As I was supposed that it might help.
scratch what I asked about
turns out the post about the batch file should help regarding turning off the automatic updates to Fences
now if only I could get my original icon layout back
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try to update again and try to reboot immediately after the installation. Do let us know if it still promp for update again after that.
ThanksBasj,Stardock Community Assistant.
Hi all.
This version contantly crashes on my computer. Where can I find the previous version?
Asking for a previous version since I updated to 3.13. Unfortunately it seems to be a well guarded secret for some reason...
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried the purge and reinstall first?
Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling. Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.
Thank you,
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant
Yes I tried multiple times, unfortunately it's a bug introduced in 3.13 with HDR displays. I would be thankful if you could send me a link to download the 3.09 installer so I can keep using this software until the next version is released.
Thank you
I tested the link in this thread reply#2, still work, https://forums.stardock.com/505007/get;3806834.
Thanks! I saw it was strikeout text and I assumed it wasn't working ! Downloading and reverting back. I'll let you know in case I have further issues
EDIT: Just to confirm that using 3.09 the HDR issue vanished! Thank you. I'll stay with 3.09 until 3.14 comes around (hopefully fixing this HDR issue)
My fences 3.1.0.5 was restored after a botched download of 3.13. It was rolled back to 3.1 after complaint and is working fine. I do not want to accept an update to 3.13 until I am sure it will work correctly. However, I keep getting opening popup about downloading 3.13 (I think I cannot find update number anywhere on the popup.
I just decided to see if it will be difference for me with the old one 3.09 (because I'm new user and started at once with 3.12-3.13).. and was I found that all bugs I described in new update - all as well in old one too, and I even found couple of new one (constant flickering of unfolding fences), that was probably have been fixed in new one. So.. I decided to move back to new one, because for me it's no difference in main issue (work of responce when you do some actions like moving icons and ect(have been described here before))
All reinstallation I did clearly and always with purging by bat file.
So I really hope that in future mostly descubed bugs will be fixed (but for me mostly annoing still bug "magic hand" and performance of general fences responce due any operations, it's a bit slower then any usual operations with icons and desktop stuff before Fences installation ) - if it will be able to improve somehow - would be awesom So not only bugs, but positive changes in fresh update I found too Cheers team!
The update would be for the latest version3.13

Disable update check in Fences
The following batch file will disable the upgrade check Fences does periodically. It will only work on Fences 3.05 or greater.
