Acoustic Bridge suddenly stops at random times

I think I tried all the usuals already, but I'm a recent purchaser of Acoustic Bridge. The trial seemed to work fine for a few hours.

But I have the issue that at random times the sound just 'stops'. This can be halfway through a Youtube video, or while listening to music. Just 'poof' silence. In the trayicon I can disable 'send audio when receiver is online' and directly my audio plays again through the _native_ (local) audio card (my laptop speakers in this case). When I enable 'send audio when receiver is online' again, the sound instantly comes from the remote receiver again.

It connects just fine and _starts_ playing audio without problems or hickups, so I'm guessing there isn't any firewall stuff. Otherwise why would it suddenly just stop midway through using it.

The connection is through ethernet, I entered the IP-address (which is static) instead of the computername in the Acoustic Bridge config, I already raised the buffers...

It seems there are more posts with this issue, from even years back. And the same guts seem to be used for the audio of Multiplicity where people also describe having 'dropout issues'. So surely there must be a solution by now?

Tried: First, try rebooting the sender and receiver
Made sure: Make sure you have audio enabled on both the sender and receiver
note: that I have drop outs, it is working, it just randomly stops. Audio is always enabled and working. Just disable 'sending' and re-enable 'sending' makes it work again. Also, local audio on the receiver works fine while the sender is suddenly quiet again.
Made sure: Make sure the Multiplicity Inbound rule is set as so on each PC
Made sure: Try entering in the actual IP of the receiver on the sender instead of the host name
Not tried: Disable jack detection on the sender
note: It's labeled as Windows7, I'm on Windows10. And I don't want to disable it, I use it often
Made sure: Allow the sender to be unmuted to make sure that it is indeed sending audio
note: that I have drop outs, it is working, it just randomly stops. If audio was muted on the receiver, it would not work locally on the receiver ot start working again by disabling and re-enabling Acoustic Bridge.
Not applicable: Some devices will not play sound unless output devices are indeed attached (power saving).

Not tried: Disable any an all Firewalls (including any antivirus software) on each machine
note: No Anti virus except default Windows 10 Defender. I do have Tinywall installed on the sender. Acoustic Bridge is whitelisted, and nothing noteworthy is in the list of 'blocked connections'.

Sometimes I can have _hours_ without an issue, and then it suddenly pops up again. Sometimes I seem to have it multiple times an hour.
