I am having the same issue this person is having..... so glad I found someone having same/similar issue I thought it was just me..... Click here to view other thread
(FYI link above is not me just another person with similar issue (Links to a diff website))
Except my issue occurs with any grouped windows.... I have tried new mice, new usb ports, new drivers, uninstalling/reinstalling, rebooting ect. with no luck. For my job my windows have to be locked in a particular spot on the screen, but since sometimes clicking on grouped tab moves the whole window it messes everything up. It does not do this on windows not grouped.
I really need a fix for this badly....
Extra note: The main windows/groups having issues are windows not set to full maximize, and i can't just set them to that as it would mess up my job.... And it will sometimes drag the whole window, or just the tab itself even if my finger is off the mouse button.
Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. From that thread you post above. The last post from the TS is after I've explaining to him/her about purge and reinstall so have you tried it?
If not, please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

So happy, you answered here as well!! makes it so much easier!!
Yes i did try this with no success, in fact before posting here I followed those same steps. I used Revo-uninstaller to completely uninstall Groupy, and rebooted PC like 3 times to be on safe side (thank god for SSD 10 sec boot times LOL) reinstalled, and rebooted another few times and still have the same issue.
Not sure what Revo-uninstaller can done better that the purge can since the purge was made specifically to purge Groupy. So I still suggest for you to use the "groupyPurge.bat" from that link I listed above. After you have done that. Try the cleanboot to help if there is conflicting application with Groupy running in the background as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#cleanboot
Thank you.
I think its fixed.... but I won't know for certain until my next work shift.... I will follow up!!
Sadly.... it did not work... I have been messing with it and while i had believed that it had been fixed it was impossible to know for certain because of how random the error occurs. But it grabbed randomly again.
Have done the cleanboot? It might be something else is causing it, since, it happaned randomly.
BTW can you produce a video on this
I am not really sure what do you mean the whole Windows move when click on tabs?
Thank you,

I did try a clean boot.
It acts as though I held the click (as if my intention was to move the grouped tab or window as a whole) vs just click and release.... So after changing tab it will hold onto tab and since I lock the full group, when I then move mouse to another part of screen the whole window will move and all included tabs. Again this only occurs with items grouped via groupy. (If I don't have group locked it'll just pull that particular grouped window out)
I will advise, that to try to prevent this I had activated that only if right mouse or shift is held will the tab be able to move, because it was causing problems because while it wouldn't move the whole window it would grab the tab and move it around.... I may switch back as it just moving the tab randomly is not as bad as the whole window moving....
Will try to get a video.... not sure how much it will help because it won't show my finger off the button with it still locked...
Just to be sure, if you want to move a Windows out of a Groupy group, you need to click and drag on "the groupy tabs" of that Windows and move away from that groupy Windows. release only after you have the tabs clear from that main groupy group Windows. Is this what you did all along or you just click on the titlebar of that Windows?
I am just clicking each tab to switch between windows/tabs, I am not wanting to drag windows out of group... However sometimes it does not recognize a release.
When you said this, new mice, different brand or same brand/model? If you have any other pc, can you try that mouse on that other system and see if this is the same issue on that pc or not.

I only have 1 PC, but it was diff model/brand mice.
The name of the mouse? and can the mouse run with only default Windows 10 driver.
Razor Basilisk V2, and I have attempted to run via different drivers with no changing Groupy issues.
Hello,I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
Any progress on the bug ? why i never respond again on my thread it's because it didn't solve my problem.
same as you that I alrady tried several ways to know is the problem only happens on my device Razer Blade, so far i've tried:
1. Tried on another brand laptop (still happened)
2. Change my mouse (still happened)
3. Uninstalling using the bat (still happened)
after that I finally uninstall Groupy and change to other alternative.
Dang.... yea no fixes yet.... I have groupy set up as such an integral part of work now that switching would be detrimental....
yes me too, groupy is really help with productivity and the UI is better than the alternative.
but the bug is really annoying and make me losing focus while working on excel.
even after I gave them video abou the bug that happened, no solution comeforth, because it didn't happened on them.
but thank god it's not just me atleast now
Hello,Sorry, but no news yet, I have forward your problem/question again to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
The problem is we cannot reproduce the problem or explain it. The latest update had some tweaks to try to fix it based on an idea of how it could possibly happen with extra checks on the mouse button before processing drag off but clearly that didn't help.
I can't help but notice both of you have razer mice however. Does that come with any additional driver software / control panel as perhaps that is interfering with things. The biggest problem gaming mice cause is their ultra high polling rate which leads to excessive mouse movement messages being sent to applications. In theory this could be a factor. This is why I would personally recommend against the use of gaming mice for desktop purposes.
Sorry to hear you are having trouble.
The software for it will have options to dial down the polling rate - pleaser try this.
If that fails, please try uninstalling any Razer software, reboot, and try with generic mice.

you have a theory
why you don't test it ?
as I said :
- I have tried on 2 Laptop which is Razer Blade 17 Pro and HP Omen 15 (both of them had the bug)
- i have tried with multiple mouse with 500 - 1000Hz polling rate (still happened)
does it really polling rate to be blame on ? AFAIK polling rate is only with the movement report not click report
I mean I only have this "sticking" problem only on Groupy, not on other alternative similar software
I to have tried other mice (Logitech/Cyberpower Mouse/Dell), and I believe artziz Razer Blade refers to a brand of laptop/pc not mouse. i have also stripped out as much as I can in the way of drivers for my current mouse, as i don't use it for gaming and don't need all the extra features. (Why don't i just use a non-gaming mouse? The feel and reliability.)
As far as inability to replicate... as far as my concern goes it is so random that sometimes it'll take 100's of clicks, and sometimes it take only a few... I just sat here while typing trying to get it to do it again while I was recording my screen and nothing for almost 10 mins... But as soon as i gave up and stopped recording it stuck... You can imagine my dismay..... I started the recording again and nothing.... Its a pesky little bug... Which is what makes it so annoying because its just so random, and does not follow any patterns.
I would suggest having an option to lock tab positions so they can't move period until unlocked which I think would be nice regardless of bug.
I'll also point out I usually have upwards of 15-20 different sets of grouped items going at 1 time in about 3-5 different windows... Could it be happening because of way to many groups, of an assortment of different programs/apps? (My system has enough RAM and CPU power to handle it with ease, but can Groupy without causing bugs)
Edit:
I also leave these items grouped and setup for a few weeks before restarting PC, however bugs occur even after a restart.
You can lock them to the group
You can lock them to the groupSean DrohanStardock Support Manager
Yes I use that (all the time), because at least then it doesn't pull the whole tab out but it does slide it around when it gets stuck. Which is annoying.
I can confirm that I'm suffering this issue where Groupy doesn't register that I let go of the mouse button when I select a tab.Windows 10, Surface laptop.Issue is independent of the logitech mouse I use because the touchpad of the laptop also has this issue. If I lock the group I get the aforementioned sliding of a tab around bug since it won't break the group apart.
If the group is unlocked, it will think I clicked on the tab and moved it just enough to break it from the group; this has a visual effect of dropping the window down below the mouse cursor about one tab's vertical thickness worth.
And yes this issue is not easily reproduceable because it seems to be at random that it does it; and yet not infrequent enough to not merit going to this forum for help.
