Greetings Gal Civer's,
I was restarting a new game of Civ 6 and 2k just announced the Byzantium empire DLC.
I like the Civ series. The mechanics are good and graphics and combat are engaging.
However, I just did not want to rebuild a new game so I fired up a new game within Gal Civ III. As usual I play my malevolent Vulcans from Mirror Mirror (goatee Spock for the win!).
There is just something about Gal Civ and its features that keep me hitting the turn button over and over and over again. This does happen while playing Civ games but not as gripping as I have it with Gal Civ.
Something about space and fleets and beam weapons. ..oh yea. That does it! I know with the situation we are in that a new space based 4x game is not likely this year or next but one can hope.
I just wanted to come here and say since I was an alpha tester for Gal Civ III and stepped up to Elite Founder I never regretted my choice and Galactic Civilizations has been and continues to be, the #1 4x game in my library.
I encourage all who own this game to fire up a new game, put your map settings to ludicrous and sit back and watch a day (or two) disappear from your life!

GalCiv 2 is one of my favorite games. I stopped playing for a while, but now I'm back playing it. I know that game inside and out. Unfortunately, the latest version of it isn't built to my liking, so I downloaded a mod that tries to stay true to v2.04.Unfortunately, I don't like GalCiv 3 all that much. I was hoping that it would be a better version of GalCiv 2, but for me, it appears to be a mess of features. Some of the features, such as needing admin points to build colony ships and constructors, I do not like. It puts a limit on what I could colonize or build. I also don't like adjacency bonuses. Too much work to manage correctly. I think I'll leave it there.
This is my go-to 4x game as well. I enjoy space-based more than planet-based, and this is the top of the line. I enjoyed GC2 as well, and GC3 is very different, and suffered from creative difference between versions. I look forward to a GC4, if it happens, and hope it is more focused.
Over 3200 hours! GC III is always a treat!

Galciv3 ... one of my favourite games of all time (definitely my favourite 4x)
Disclaimer: Only with ALL of the DLC
Since I have ALL of the DLC, I cannot confirm nor deny this allegation.
Im going to say with3900+ hours Galactic civilizations 1 and 2 are my favorite games. I will have to admit anything after 1.7 was nice.
I'm a newbie here. I also want to register and want to play this game. How can I do that?
You can buy a copy of GalCiv 3 on the steam store (or on GOG, or epic game store). If you are looking for GalCiv 4, well, it hasn't been officially announced yet.https://store.steampowered.com/app/226860/Galactic_Civilizations_III/I don't know what you mean about registering. I haven't registered anything, but I can still play the game.
There are many great features available to you once you register, including:
