Today the icons inside the fences became very spaced out. See attached image. The icons below the fence are about the spacing I was seeing prior to today. I also put the software versions below.
Screen resolution 1920x1080
Thanks for your help!
Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. It is best to upgrade your Fences to V3 to work better with latest version for Windows 10.
Thanks

Ok, I renewed my subscription. They still seem spaced farther out than before....
Is there a setting that changes their spacing?
Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.
Thank you.
Great....I purged, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted, and now I have a completely empty desktop. No icons (files show in Windows Explorer) . I purged again and rebooted still no icons. Installed a second time and now have icons, but spacing is the same.
This is the spacing before I had this issue.
This is the spacing that I see now.
Sorry to hear you are having issues.
Right click on desktop to view and check classic/small icons .
with Cntl.key held down spin middle mouse wheel up and down for sizing ..
try and report back , please .

At least your icons are practicing proper social distancing.
Thanks for the help. I started thinking this was more of a windows issue, but now I see the spacing in the fence is independent of the spacing on the desktop. Below, you can see what I mean. The first picture is the classic icon size. As I make the icons bigger, the space between them grows inside the fence by a larger scale than on the desktop. Any help would be appreciated, this is a lot of wasted space on an already crowded desktop. Thanks!
Any other ideas?
I have forwarded your report to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations.
Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates.
We really do appreciate your feedback, thanks.
Sorry to hear you are having trouble.
What changed (Windows update, software, etc)?
What is your DPI \ Scaling set to - has it changed?
If you create a new Windows Admin account, log in under it, does it still happen?

Hi, sorry for the delay in responding. I am not sure what changed. Probably a windows update. I am not sure where I can see DPI, but I have scaling set to this. I created a new admin account and the behavior is the same. I also did a Windows refresh because of other reasons and the behavior has not changed.
See if this helps at allhttps://forums.tomshardware.com/faq/how-to-change-icon-spacing-in-windows-10-desktop.2702636/#:~:text=How%20to%20change%20icon%20spacing%20in%20Windows%2010,other%20items.%203%20Adjust%20each%20item%20to%20suit.
I will give this a try when I get back to the office, but I am not optimistic. Note that the spacing on the images I posted. On the desktop, the spacing is consistent. The icons are nearly touching. But the horizontal spacing of the icons in the fence grows with each increase of the icon sizes.
No Luck. I tried several things noted and even the registry change. It just seems like when you make the icons bigger, the space between the icons grows inside the fences, but not on the desktop. I don't know....maybe it has always been like this....maybe I changed my icons to medium a while back and didn't realize the spacing until I opened this post. In any case, it seems like a waste of desktop real estate if you can fix it.
Classic
Medium
Large
Thanks for your help,

I am having the same issue. On version 3. Did you get this resolved?
There is an internal ticket on the issue to have it looked at.
At this time, I cannot provide a timeframe of when it will be addressed or answered.
Internal ref: ODNT-1283
Did anyone get this resolved? I have the same problem, its really annoying how my icons no longer fit into my fences
I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling and this fixed my issue. FWIW
How did you do the reinstallation? I tried it several times and I can't get it to work

I started using a new computer a few weeks ago and this just happened again..... Reinstalling on the last computer didn't help. Any update on if this was resolved?
As mentioned by Sean, in reply#18. It should get resolved when the new version come.
