Game used to work fine. I replaced my video card recently, went from an RX 580 to a 5700. And now all units are invisible, as are shards. Any help?
I and others from the Steam forum have the same issue. It seems we all have AMD cards and specifically 5700's. Did you ever get a response or find a solution? Games just a brick now without a fix.
Nothing. I've posted everywhere I can think of. I'm disappointed because Brad and Stardock are usually better than this.
Appreciate the reply. I was simply sent a link to their FAQ page, lol. I would assume they're just not supporting the game anymore. If I had just made the purchase however and it was ultimately never going to work as advertised I'd consider it a punishable offence. I'll let you know if hear anything. Cheers.
I'll bring this up next meeting and see what we can do. I don't want to promise anything though as it is an older game and right now we've been disrupted in hiring people due to the pandemic. If you know any engineers and designers please send them out way
Appreciate it. I totally understand if you guys no longer support the game due to its age. I think you'll find it's going to be a matter of not being compatible with newer AMD cards/drivers. However, if you choose to not support it you should really mark it on the Steam store as "does not work with AMD" so you're not screwing new customers. Good luck.
That is pretty odd. I’ll take a look.
Yes, thank you very much.
Just checking in. What did you guys decide?
Just gave this a whirl again and it's still not working. Are you guys fixing this for AMD users or are you posting , "does not work for AMD users" on the product page via the Steam Store?
Installing the new AMD driver 20.9.1 does not fix the problem.
New patch fixes the bug for Sorcerer King: Rivals. . Excellent work, thanks so much. Any chance it could also be applied to the original Sorcerer King? It has the same bug.
Thank you kindly for fixing the game.
Glad it's working for folks now
I had same problem.
My temporal solution:
1) Get dxvk-1.7.2.tar.gz from github.com
2) Extract it with 7-zip or similar
3) copy file d3d9..dll from X32 directory to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sorcerer King
Now it works!
Please note: I can not guaranty it works OK for you.
