Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more.
1) Windows version. Please use winver.exe for full version numbers.
2) Groupy version.
3) Those word and excel are on local drive or external/network share/cloud drive.
4) Please try the disable "Disable hardware acceleration" on Excel and Word. (File->Option->advance->Display-> Tick the disable hardware graphics Acceleration option.)
Thanks
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.

Hello,I have forwarded your questions/problems again to the Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate you feedback and patience.
I find that to be the case regardless of the apps I use and could be the result of many / any 3rd party app(s) or Windows itself.
I guess I would want to know why you believe Groupy is the cause - what tests have you done to show it is the reason?
Sean DrohanStardock Support Manager
the reason I think its groupy is because the computer only started to slow down since I installed groupy - before that I could run it for as many days as I wanted and i wouldnt experience any slowdown, eg the mouse cursor sometimes lags after I havent restarted the PC for about 48 hours
heres a gif example of what i mean, this only started happening since Ive installed groupy when I havent restarted the PC for approx over 48 hours, you can see the cursor lags near the end of the gif https://i.imgur.com/VUSCh3W.gifv
What does task manager report as being the highest CPU / Memory usage when that is the case - where does Groupy rank - and when you see this issue, and turn Groupy off:
what, if anything, changes?
Also, how large are these MS office files - what is the process load for them while loaded?
my CPU usage when groupy is active - groupy uses .1% CPU and 4.1MB memory
after disabling groupy my cpu usage - groupy uses 0% cpu and 0 MB memory
>Also, how large are these MS office files - what is the process load for them while loaded
there are 18 word files and the size of them in total is 3.03MB
I have same issues with groupy.
Mouse and keaybord sometimes slow down. Right click in explorer slows down dramatically, ....
All after install groupy and after some days of working without restarting.
Windows 20H2 (Build 19042.1586)
I've got the same issue here - and yeah it's certainly groupy. I googled it to see if anyone else was having similar problems. I've got a HP Elitebook 8470p i7 3520m Radeon 7570m 6Gb RAM + 1Gb Dedicated GPU RAM 1Tb WD Blue SSD running Windows 10.0.19043 - groupy installed and computer is totally unusable - uninstall groupy and it's working fine. The issues seem to be not just with word, but when running anything - none of my adobe apps/creative cloud would work with groupy installed, even explorer and the start menu went to an absolute slow down. Groupy now uninstalled and I can use the computer again. Also whilst having groupy installed I was getting regular warnings from windows that it was discovering errors on the hard drive (lost files/corrupted files).I've also got Groupy installed on my main desktop and it seems to work fine on that (that one is running Windows 11 and has a much faster AMD CPU).
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.
Thank you,Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
I have been using Groupy since December of 2018 through multiple Windows 10 OS upgrades without any issues. I am currently running Windows 10 Pro 19045.2075.
Your issues could be a corrupted installation of Groupy or a compatibility issue with another app you are running. As a first step, I would also suggest a purge and re-install as basj suggests. Important! Run the purge and then reboot your computer; install Groupy from a fresh download from your account; and this is really important, reboot again.
For reference my system is as follows:
Motherboard: EVGA Z270 FTW-K
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz 4.20 GHz
Installed RAM: 32.0 GB, (4x8GB) G. Skill Ripjaws V Series DDR4 (PC4-25600) XMP2.0 @ 3200MHz
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition: Windows 10 Pro
Version: 22H2, Build 19045.2075
Feature Exp. Pack: 120.2212.3920.0
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti
Gents, Groupy is a great piece of sw but it absolutely and definitely slows down pc's reactivity. Disabling it (with on-off button) all the office docs go back to normal and snappy again. I do use office apps at a professional level with about 5-10 docs opened at once across Word/Excel/Powerpoint (and nothing else opened) and being using Groupy every day in the last 2y, and the performance difference is evident (lets' say 20-30% less snappy) than normal.
I got used to that, but FYI other sw like Tinytabs (despite being less refined than Groupy) do not introduce any lagging.. so hope you guys can have a better look at the internal engine.
I use a Lenovo X1 Carbon, a decent machine.
Offtopic, there is a very annoying and never fixed bug when (some) powerpoint docs are opened and costly crash. It happens with ppt files with apparently some internal links and when opened directly from MS outlook as attachments. This behavior only happens only when Groupy is On (so that I excluded powerpoints to be grouped as a workaround).
Cheers guys
'Laggy' is hard to quantify \ measure. Have you ever tried under a cleanboot?

I thought this forum was meant to provide feedback and input from extensive user experience to improve the sw quality / features.
With all due respect, I only see a constant negation here Sir.
Most users here are pretty proficient and/or Developers. So, yes, they do test and try all the workaround/solutions before they raise a case.
It would a good thing for this great piece of sw (that I/we also paid for) that these feedback would be considered and forwarded to the Dev Team, so that all the users could then benefit from its improvement.
Kind regards
Ok, so you absolutely did try the clean boot as detailed here, Andre?
