I'm running the latest build of Windows 10.
No matter what I do I can't get Deskscapes 10 to show/put on the desktop any videos or animations.
I have the latest MPEG 2 encoders from MS, DirectX is up and running (and updated to the latest version, etc...)
I have used the Purge tool to remove all traces of Deskscapes 10 and reinstalled it. NOTHING, no ani's or vid's
Whaaaa gives?
It was working fine prior to the new build of WIndows 10 Home.
PLEEEEEEEASE HELP MEEEEE!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues.
Let's try a couple things here .
1st - try updating Codecs again here , is what I use https://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_mega.htm
2 nd . Check your settings in the DS10 app see images below , you have a Media Foundation option
and 2 Direct show options , try changing to either Direct Show option and see if that works after reboot.
also change the other setting in image below if not that already .
Reboot after Settings changes .
There's more info under the images.
Also what is the full version of Windows Home you have the issue with ?
Type in run .. winver.exe ... to get this .
How many monitors are you running and resolutions ?
Is Scaling set to 100 % ?
AzDudeStardock Community Assistant
I had already done each step you've mentioned... and double checked (did it tall twice)
1 monitor @ 1920x1080, fonts, icons, and text scaled to 175%, this scale never effected it prior to this, it had worked for a long time with this setting.
And to clarify, my system has (only) the most updated DirectX, not 9. New installs used to keep all earlier versions, somehow updating to this build of Windows 10 the earlier versions disappeared.
Yep, they don't seem interested in fixing it. In one thread I heard "well, there is only a few of you, so it's not a major problem" WTH? And it IS more than a few, I have another friend in the same boat. So much for software development and customer service ... sigh...
Refer to this thread read through try the fixes if you still need help
then post your Windows info in thread https://forums.stardock.com/495977/page/4/#3756725
As I said, I've followed all the steps, both in this and another thread, 3 times, still no dice. How do I post the relevant windows data needed? Thanks,
Don't post in this thread post in the other thread listed above .https://forums.stardock.com/495977/page/4/#3756740
In that thread reply #53 will show you how to get regedit info.
and type in run ... winver.exe, to get full Windows version.
then post screenshots in that thread not here .`.
The issue is being looked into at this time .
