So Chrome had a flag called:
chrome://flags/#windows10-custom-titlebar
Which you could disable Chrome's Windows10-custom-titlebar but now the option is not there anymore and WindowsBlind does not skin Chrome anymore? Any idea how to make Chrome skinnable again?
Since this popped back up I'll add a little something to it-
If you want to make a shortcut that goes directly to a website, add a space and the web address to the end of his switch, such as:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -disable-features=Windows10CustomTitlebar https://forums.wincustomize.com/recent/
I wouldn't want to redo a hundred shortcuts for it, but 10 or so for the favorite addresses wasn't such a bit deal.
I take it everyone is doing well with this issue? I'm glad.
I used the switch for a little while, but as has been pointed out in a couple of other threads Chrome's "Save As" popup dialog window became problematic on its own. So, I'm back to:
which is probably where I'll stay. Thanks for the tip though.
Omg... Did Google remove
-disable-features=Windows10CustomTitlebar
? Why?! This trick won't work now.
Confirmed, it's not working any more.
This is ridiculous, they removed the taskbar preview feature eons ago I really don't get it what's the point of this windows 10 titlebar feature why would they even do that.
Apart from that, I had created a task to restart chrome's tray process without windows 10 title bar feature, I think a similar feature could also be added to windowblinds as an option if you ever found another solution like that.
Wait so did you fix chrome for WindowsBlind or is the issue still present?
I'm currently using an older version of chrome and prevented chrome from updating for a temporary fix but this is horrible.
I hope Stardock and Google work together to make this fix. Otherwise, I may need to switch to Edge.
No I needed chrome's tray icon to receive notifications on some youtube channel's live videos, so I created a task with the following trigger:
And the following Actions:
But none of those are working anymore since the last update from google.
Sadly I don't use Chrome anymore, I'm currently using Microsoft Edge (Developers Edition) ver: 77.0.235.5 (Official Build) Dev (64-bit) on my pc's and my Macbook Pro, and it seems to be running great. It uses Chromium open source, and other open source software, just my two cents worth, have a great day.
Edge-dev's not skinned either.
I have moved to FireFox and my Windows10 Blind skins!
Hopefully FireFox doesn't remove the future of allowing Window's title bar to draw.
Hey, guys. i don't know if im just not getting something but nothing has worked for me...
Follow instructions in Advanced, Window Blinds - Firefox is skinned
Iv'e tried everything it says but it still stays the same. Also, im not sure why I need to enable Firefox skinning.
Are you using Chrome? If so.. than I can't help you. And reading from chrome user above, seem like chrome has change something, yet again, and Windowblinds can't skin it. But if you're using Firefox, than its a different story.
Thank you,

The shortcut trick won't work on my Windows 10 PC.
For Chrome you must enable skinning in WindowBlinds config, close all instances of Chrome and add the following to the command line :
-disable-windows10-custom-titlebar
I am using the shortcut I downloaded from the link in Windowblinds config. Still isn't working, Neil.
Hi RedneckDude,
I was using the attribute from there as well ( -disable-features=Windows10CustomTitlebar ) but it stopped working. So I tried the attribute Neil Banfield posted and now Chrome is skinned again. I am guessing they not got around to update the WindowBlinds Suppoer FAQ yet.

Ive tried that but i think a chrome update or something changed it again and windows gave me an error message. Am i doing something wrong? i know that is the location of chrome because i never moved it and i can launch it from there.
Tried both, not working....
Not sure why it's not working for you then. As can be seen, it does for me on latest version.
I might be wrong but it looks like you missed a space between *\chrome.exe" -disable-* ??
Iv'e tried it with and without a space but still nothing.
I may not have the latest Chrome. I'll check. I don't use Chrome much anyway, so no biggie.
EDIT Yes, I have the latest Chrome. Still no joy,
