Windows 10, totally up to date. All the usual suspects accounted for.
Downloaded Groupy on 3/25/19. Rebooted after install. Beginning about 3/27, noticed Word and Excel, (where were applications where I had grouped tabs) took over a minute to load. I mentioned this to my colleague who had recommended Groupy to me, and he did not have this problem.
Checked forum and Googled for similar problems, could not find anything. On 4/3 (two days ago), was fed up and uninstalled Groupy. Rebooted, and Word & Excels are now starting in seconds.
The only evidence I have that Groupy was the problem was that when I uninstalled it the problem went away.
I also encountered the same problem as "Bug with Groupy and Excel Spreadsheets" (https://forums.stardock.com/491743/bug-with-groupy-and-excel-spreadsheets).
Groupy is a great idea but because of the issues I encountered, it is unusable.
Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I can't reproduce your problem on my system. Can you try the purge and reinstall steps mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#reinstalling
Make sure to re-download the latest version from your account, install that and reboot. Test again.
While you at it. Need more information.
1) Windows 10 version. Use Winver.exe for full version number.
2) Fences version.
3) MS office version.
Thanks

Same thing happened to me, however works fine on my workstation, but not laptop. I uninstalled as well.
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more details on
1) Windows version. use winver.exe
2) Groupy version
3) Laptop specification.
Finally reloaded this, same results:
Aside from the applications being slow to load, I have noticed that after I unstalled Groupy, Windows + E would not open the File Explorer. However, if I uninstall Groupy the keystroke combination returns to its usual functionality.
As I've mention above, have you tried the purge and reinstall steps (reply#1). Please know that the purge is not the same as uninstall and reinstall. If you have tried it. and it still fail, we can move of to the next step of troubleshooting.
Thank you,
Stardock Community Assistant
I did the purge and reinstalled Group 1.20. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visual Studio Code load faster than before the purge & reinstall, but not as fast as with Groupy not installed. I suspect that other applications may be affected but I may not notice it due to reduced frequency of use.
The most concrete evidence I have is that even after purge & reinstall, Windows Key + E will take about three minutes to open the File Explorer. If I uninstall Groupy, Windows Key + E will immediately open File Explorer.
Hello please try the cleanboot steps mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#cleanboot. Try it and let us know the result.
I'm in the middle of business trip, and I do not do major changes like this unless I'm at home base. In the meantime I will monitor things.
