Set in the Ashes of the Singularity universe, the player takes on the role of commander of the defense of Earth's first colony on Proxima Centauri. Stardock's new take on the classic genre comes by leveraging its new game engine, first seen in Ashes of the Singularity™ and more recently in Star Control®: Origins.
"With tens of thousands of enemy machines pouring toward your base, we want to give players a very new experience of what it means to defend yourselves against overwhelming odds," said Derek Paxton, lead designer of Siege of Centauri. "It takes little explaining to the player on the benefits between a rail gun that fires 1 deadly round every 10 seconds, and a high-speed plasma arc array that does low damage, but to dozens of enemies at once, when you can visibly see a huge mothership surrounded by hundreds of escorts coming at you."
The veteran strategy game developer is also incorporating some strategic elements to the genre, such as defending resources and deploying fast response teams to battle.
"Another feature we're pretty excited about is separating resource gathering from enemy destruction," said Paxton. "You are, literally, dealing with overwhelming enemy forces while simultaneously having to make some tough choices on what areas of a given map you need to defend and which ones you need to just let go in order to safeguard your resource production.”
The Founder's program is designed to allow fans of the genre to get early input into game mechanics, pacing, and balance.
"There are a lot of interesting questions that we want to engage with our fans with before final release," said Paxton. "And with this genre so popular, it presents such a great opportunity to tap into that collective experience.
The Founder's program will begin on March 28Pre-purchase today and gain access to the beta when it launches in two weeks

I am very glad that you are live. Wish I could be. Never received game. A no show on STEAM. Have receipt, shows up in my Stardock account. Tried email. Got same notice about FAQs. Wonderful. I have seen many posts about this same issue and bad keys. I have everything. But the game is not on my STEAM account.
I am waiting. Is anyone awake there. Bought game on 29th. Has not showed up on my STEAM account. Have confirmation notice, shows up in my Stardock account, shows up in Stardock download file. DOES NOT show up on STEAM so I can activate and play. I see that others have had the same problem. Also that there is a problem with the keys. What??? I have been a follower (and buyer) for many years, and this is the worst I have ever seen. Ever!!! Sent email to sales and tech support. Got stupid FAQ form reply about keys and how to activate on STEAM. I have the activation code and instructions. DO NOT HAVE GAME. Why don't they just list it on STEAM. I would gladly paid again. rdblair1946 aka AncientGamer.
Go to this webpage and type in your email. It should bring up all of the products you have bought on our store including the Steam key for Siege.
Hi, I received the email about being a founder and getting access to the game but there wasn't any activate code within it and it's not showing up in my Steam library either. No key either in my profile settings when looking there.
Please submit a support ticket here so our team can better assist you.
Apologies for the issues. Please know that you're not alone and we're trying our absolute best to get everyone their keys.
Hi, thanks have done so
No problem! Please let us know if they're able to help resolve your issue.
Confusion caused by simple misunderstanding. The correct answer is as follows: Look at the very top of your steam page. You will see the line "Steam View Friends Games Help". Click on this GAMES. Product key found on your invoice ABOVE the phrase "Steam Key" and not following it. Look for STEAM PRODUCT CODE. When you click on GAMES you will get an option to ACTIVATE a game on Steam. You do not need to select name of game from a list. Clicking on ACTIVATE game will call up Standard Key Code field and formatting instructions. When done entering Key Code (STEAM PRODUCT CODE), STEAM will auto-validate and download game, activate, and install. Bingo. Your done.
Yep, this is how you redeem codes on Steam. Maybe next time we should do a graphic to explain this. I have made one in the past.
Aye got it all sorted and being playing it fine now. Thanks for the help
