Greetings!
Welcome to the Siege of Centauri forum!
Dig in, it's going to be a long fight.
Congrats on the announce guys, looking forward to this
WooHoo!
Grats on the announcement. This is going to be fun!
Is it possible to do dynamic pathing in this TD game? So many games have a fixed path and you are just able to build towers alongside the path on a woefully inadequate number of places. This appears to be your very cheap casual game plan. It’s great when you can shape the paths of the enemy to implement different strategies, but obviously requires more implementation of AI and pathing algorithms.
tah!
This looks good. But I can't tell if this is the sequel we were told about in January or if this is a place holder. If this is a place holder great it looks fun and if it's cheap I dont see why not. However if this is the sequel, I'm a little sad because I was hoping for a RTS with new factions and story.
Definitely not a sequel. Like SOTE mentioned, it started out as a DLC that got too different from the base game to be part of the same EXE. Still priced like DLC.
I am really excited for this new experience, and hope that it will make use of the engine and power of pc to offer a deeper, more interesting game in this genre.
Hope there will be some Alpha/Beta available soon and this is one game I think I would even participate in founders/pre-order program to get an early look.
Almost wish I hadn't heard about it - now I have to live through the waiting
I am excited to see this, and I will likely pre-order it, BUT, it looks a lot like Sol Survivor, which while it's not a bad game per se, it lacks quite a bit because you can never really change the aliens paths. TD games like Defense Grid, where once you set up a series if switchbacks or some sort of barrier rely on an AI to find their way around it, ("find the shortest path"). This game, at this stage, doesn't look much more complex than "Bloons TD", (no pathfinding at all), which would would be a crying shame given all the innovations and tech Stardock has.
Please, please, please, Brad. Consider AI path finding so we can make barriers and paths and can have some true challenges. Thank you!
Multi-player maps are a must! Assign the host as commander who then assigns areas to be defended (either fixed, pre-determined areas or more free flowing user defined). For variation commanders can have an independent resource supply or share from a common pool. Orbital support can similarly be individually assigned or part of a common pool of available support were each commander has either a preset number of fire support calls or cool down periods for each variety of orbital support.
Random map generation or mod downloadable maps would be required to ensure repeat play through over the long term.
I am an Ashes Founder, and I will get this game, but because I love you guys and want to support you, I will buy it and pay the $10
Good Luck! I will see the Updated Engine and how far you have taken it.
Greetings from Germany!
I´m joining the Founders Program. I can´t await to play the Beta Version.
