Maybe I'm missing something, I cannot group my Chrome browser windows using Groupy. Does Groupy support Chrome? Is there any special setting I have to set to make this work?

OK, so Groupy does not work for Chrome, is that right?
Chrome does group, just has an issue with saved groups if Chrome is already open:

Well, it's not working for me. I have two Chrome windows open and when I drag one window over the other to group, nothing happens-it's not grouping. I'm using Groupy 1.18.
Then there is something else wrong... Does anything else group - do you have conditionals set on grouping:
I have same settings enabled shown in the screenshot. Groupy works for other applications such as office applications, notepad, explorer, etc., but not Chrome and a few other applications.
I would need a video of what you are trying to do - like the one I showed you where it does work - as I suspect its a usage thing and not a settings one.
However, if it is a settings issue, you can burn it and reinstall with this:

I don't see an option to upload video. How do I upload video?
You can upload to youtube and share the link here.

What version of Google Chrome are you using?
Chrome version: 72.0.3626.96
I don't have a youtube account to upload to. I can email the file, it is less than 2 MB.
I have tested on the latest Chrome and Canary (their daily dev build) and both work fine.
You can upload any video to a cloud drive service (Google Drive, DropBox, OneDrive, etc) and post a shared link in a reply here.
Here is the link to the video:

It would be great if you also show us your setting in the video.
I was wondering if you have included Chrome in "Application exclusions.." list. If yes, please remove it. And if not. Try to add Chrome inside the Automatic application groupings.
I will check
Please try the purge and reinstall steps : https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#reinstalling
Make sure to redownload the latest from your account. And reboot after the installation. Let us know if it solve your problem.
Hi all,
I am having the same problem. Has it been resolved?
Groupy works great in all my applications, apart from chrome.
Is this a known issue?
When I try to group chrome browsers together nothing happens.
When I try to group Word, for example, to a Chrome window, it turns blue, as usual, but says 'cannot group a window that is not responding'.
I have tried purging and several other 'fixes' with no luck.
So frustrating...
Please help!
Many thanks

So you keep the tab you want to group too active, while dragging the other window.
How do you do this?
Is there a short cut key you press while dragging other window?
No, the one at the back is inactive when he clicked and dragged the front Windows on-top of the back windows.
You can set how you want to group the windows by selecting the option show below, in the screenshot.
I upgraded to Chrome 78 today and I can no longer group Chrome with other windows in groupy.
I have tried:
1) Uninstalling and reinstalling groupy
2) Deleting saved group and trying to create a new group (to no avail since Chrome will no longer group)
3) I verified in my settings that "Always group windows when moved on top of each other" is enabled.
The error message I get when I try to group Chrome is "Cannot group a window that is not responding".
Please help

Same issue as above...
I have been using group for a few months now. Works with everything except chrome.
It looks like the latest version of Chrome sandboxes itself and thus cannot be grouped as it does not allow Groupy to interact with it.
Complaints over this behaviour would have to go to Google as their app has chosen to act like this.
Work-around? Anyone?
It seems like the chrome window becomes inactive when not in use, could this be the problem?
Is there a setting, or a command that can opt out of this window behaviour.
There must be something....
If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.
I'd be lost without Groupy! I've spent a hole day trying to find a fix...
