I'm getting a strange issue with WB on the latest release of Windows 10 (v1803). Whenever I open the Task View, either by clicking the button on the taskbar or by pressing Win+Tab, the Task View behaves very erratically. It basically refuses to close, and renders my mouse unusable. Unloading Windowblinds doesn't seem to fix it, I have to fully uninstall WB to get Task View to behave correctly.
Hello,
I have forwarded your report to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations.
Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates.
We really do appreciate your feedback, thanks.

In other words, don`t get your hopes high, we don`t care too much about this piece of software and is not anyware near the top of our priorities. I have the same problem, related to the Window Blinds and new Windows 10 update. Don`t plan to update any subscription unless I see clear signs that the developers still care about this product.
Thanks, I've the same problem.
We are working on an update for a number of issues. The issue with the taskview will be resolved in this update.
I was hoping we could get it out last week, but other things came up which made that not possible.
Hi
1803 would have been available to 'Windows Insiders Program' participants. Do none of the developers take part?
Seems this is a difficult one to resolve. Quite disruptive to my workflow on my Win10 machine, BTW. (Semi-retired, but keeping busy )
That will teach me to manually click the 'check for updates' button. Did not realise I would be automatically given (with no further say so from me); the 1803 feature update.
In any case I have a crude workaround and am currently using an alternate virtual desktop system in order to navigate my dedicated work spaces. It's either that or deal with the blinding and ugly interface that is Win 10 Vanilla.
Hope Stardock get this update out soon. Though as much as I find the current situation annoying; I would rather the developers take longer and provide a stable update that resolves the situation. Better than some half-baked solution that requires further back and forth. Something that seems all too common lately.
All the best
Getting an update out is a priority for us and it should not be long at all, gang - thanks for your patience and understanding.

You can of course just use keyboard shortcuts to navigate virtual desktops without going into task view. ctrl-win-left/right arrow
Apply this settings on windows. Fix 50% of the issue. Just try it.

Appreciate the assist. Was aware, but cycling through each desktop to get to where I want is a little cumbersome, for me anyway. Really helps to see all desktops simultaneously, (getting old...). Have a key bind on my MX2 mouse so normally 2 rapid clicks and I'm where I need to be.
Been waiting pretty much the same length of time since the 1803 update and will be happier once I'm back to a familiar routine.
Thanks again the help and all the best.
So... How things are going with the update? Any news?
Hey, same issue here.
So, over a month to resolve a issue.
Things seem to be slow on windowblind.
A month ago the needed update was to arrive "later this week or next". Don't promise what you can't deliver. The recommendation is "under promise and over deliver".
I guess I know now to never renew when a Windows 10 update is due soon. It almost always breaks WindowBlinds and Stardock takes forever to release an update. I'm tired of excuses. No reason it should take 2 months or more to release an update. We should be getting a free subscription extension for not being able to use one of the most core packages.
So I just upgraded to Win 1803 and the task view was broken. I uninstalled WindowBlinds, ShadowFX and WindowsFX and all is good now. When I get a chance I'll try to determine which was the offending program.
Edit:
Just read the entire thread here and realized a fix is in the works, I guess I'll just wait
At first when I got this update, I thought my Windows10 update was just buggy so I rolled back. After getting the Windows10 update again, I decided to do some trail and error and I found out that anytime I apply a WindowBlinds10 skin, the Timeline / Task view function breaks and anytime I go back to default theme after restarting, Timeline / Task view function works again as intended. Also another thing I discovered is when I use WindowsFX... Timeline / Task View button refuses to work. There is no way to even open it unless you turn OFF WindowsFX.
I can confirm WindowsBlind10 and WindowsFX both break the Timeline / Task View functionality and it saddens me since I use that functionality a lot. ðŸ˜
When will the issue you had last week a month ago be fixed?
Yes please. I would like this to be fixed soon. I hate not being able to use WindowsBlind10 all because of this retarded Windows10 update.
I know I said I was happy to wait so the problem was resolved right, however I have just noticed the "Summer Holiday" announcement posted today:
"by Island Dog Jun 30, 2018 10:02 Stardock will be closed for the week starting on Monday, July 2nd and we will be returning on Monday, July 9th. We will be monitoring support tickets and forums during this time, but expect delays in responses during this time."
Stardock will be closed for the week starting on Monday, July 2nd and we will be returning on Monday, July 9th. We will be monitoring support tickets and forums during this time, but expect delays in responses during this time."
So I unless we see a solution in the next 2 days; I'm assuming that it is very unlikely we will see one until sometime in the latter part of July at the earliest. If so; then I do genuinely hope you enjoy your break (everyone deserves some down time). However I now feel that Stardock has failed to resolve this issue in a timely manner.
Regarding that:
I was considering buying another of your products quite recently (just before the surprise 1803 update), but that is now no longer the case. In addition; I intend to look for simpler skinning alternatives. If I find a suitable one, then I have no further need for Windowblinds.
That said; have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
I uninstalled windowblind.
Please tell me if you find a good alternative.
I will not renew my subscription.
Don`t wait for a alternative suggestion on this forum. I`ve posted a link to an alternative for the windows 10 native virtual desktop ( this is at the moment the only viable workaround if you want to use windowblinds in windows 10) and the moderators deleted my post, although I was not suggesting, as you ask, an alternative software that was competing against their products. I was actually trying to help their existing customers to hang on to this software, until they will manage to find a way to make windowblinds work in windows 10.
The only thing that I can say ( I hope they will allow this, at least) is there are workable alternatives to windowsblinds, just google it.
Anyway, Neil Banfield, the man behind windowblinds, has put a lot of effort into this software over the years. I still hope that he did not gave up. If he did not gave up, a workable version of windowsblinds will come and I can tell you that that will be better than the existing options from other developers. After all, this software has many years of experience in it and in the past, at least, there was a large team involved into development. It is not easy for a new piece of software (especially one of this complexity) to compete with that.
Sorry, but I have to agree that posting on a Stardock forum an alternative 'product' is is not good form. Even if I take issue with the amount of time is has and will obviously take to resolve this problem.
Since I'm pretty much going to disappear into the woodwork now, I would like to leave a more detailed account as to why.My feedback on this issue is that: - The developers should (I assume) have had access to 'Windows Insider Program'. Which means that should have been aware of this issue from about mid to late March. - There seems to be some confusion/doubt as to whether the 1803 update is the exclusive cause of the problem. Since uninstalling Windowblinds; I can say that everything works as it should. (For me anyway). - The developers seem to want to bundle the solution with their next release. (Can understand that to a degree, but months...) - There is (at least in this case) poor communication with regards to when that will be and assurances about the release being 'soon' are clearly premature and so are not at all helpful or reassuring. - The time it has taken so far has run into a staff holiday break. I do understand that this is just unfortunate timing;. however since that leaves me waiting for even longer for a solution; I can not help but feel somewhat irritated. So after waiting over 2 months with no solution, and no indication that the long wait is ending anytime soon; I have abandoned Windowblinds and looked for an alternative. It took me less than 2 hours to find one, select the skin I wanted and customize it the way I like.It is great having things back to normal after all this time, especially with the added bonus of the new 'task view/timeline' feature.
Finally I should say that:Windowblinds is a good versatile program, I and will miss the ability to easily add textures which I feel adds and 'organic' look to Win 10. IconPackager is still a very useful and reliable program for me and so will continue to use it.
I will also miss the theme; 'Dark Mode' by Vad_M. Which while not perfect; is the most aesthetically pleasing and professional looking dark theme I could find that worked with Windowblinds. All the best.
I initially bought the Object Dock suite because I wanted the Deskscapes app and I said to myself: why not get the full package? I new about Stardock WindowsBlinds for many years. I recently uninstalled Deskcapes because I have fond a great alternative, a lot more powerfull and cheaper also.
As to WindowsBlinds, what I have founded so far as an alternative, poses some concearn to me in regards of breaking security of the sistem ( could not find, yet, enough info on developer). When I will be reasonably convinced on that field, I will take one more look at WindowsBlinds development state and then decide, based on that, if I will make the switch.
I still hope that Stardock will come around on this software package, but those are thin hopes that are dissipating fast...
I do apologise for the delays with the WB update.
Unfortunately the issue was not spotted during the insider builds.
I was hoping we could simply put out an update with the fix, but it became apparent there were other things which needed addressing too, so the update has to wait for those too.
The good news is one of the remaining sticking points (an issue with VS 2017) has been addressed now and the update will come with a new feature as well.
As for timing, I hope the update can go into beta soon, obviously this week is a holiday so we will see if we have available QA time next week or the week afterwards.
For clarification, the issue is indeed with the very latest Windows update only and specifically to the fairly rarely used virtual desktops feature.
Except that MS is pushing it to the forefront with the new Timeline feature, so it's suddenly going to be used a lot more, even by people who aren't power users.
I get that you can't catch everything, but checking to see if your software interferes with major headline features seems like it should be a priority.
