For our Object Desktop customers, the beta for the first major update to Groupy is now available from your store download page at https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products/. You can access the saved groups via the Saved Groups item in the Start menu or from the vertical ... Groupy menu.
-Adds : support for saving groups that can be launched again later (either grouped or ungrouped)-Adds : support for saved groups with Explorer, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint to remember the location/files that were being worked on-Adds : option to add a New tab button to running applications (defaults to on for Explorer windows)-Fixes : under the hood compatibility fixes and performance improvements
Please note that remembering active files/folders features are specific to Explorer and those three Office applications atm.
If you are not a current Object Desktop subscriber (which includes Fences, Start10, Multiplicity, and more!), you can purchase on sale for $29.99 or renew here: https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/
Just Installed 1.09 over 1.02, restart and still 1.02 is there. Something is wrong. Thanks
In:
\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Groupy
-Right click GroupyConfig-Properties-DetailsWhat do you have for a version there?
If that fails (its wrong), uninstall, reboot, reinstall.
That solved it (uninstall). Now Works ok. Thanks sdRohan! 🖖
forgive me for being dumb but headline says for Object Dock users does this mean if i have purchased Groupy, Fences, Tiles & Multiplicity separately (NON O'D Subscriber) i cant use this update?
Hello,
For non OD subscriber, you will need to wait until it get past the beta stage.
Does this version have the option for new windows to open in a tab like how QTTabBar, Clover and most web browsers work? That's literally the only thing keeping me from switching to this from Clover as this offers so much more in every other way.
If you mean that. yes it does.
Does anyone else have an issue where the automatically group all "x" windows together option is no longer working.
I upgraded from 1.02 to 1.09 rebooted and now no windows automatically group (notepad, explorer, etc..). Then I uninstalled (chose to delete settings rebooted and reinstalled and I still have the same issue.
I've tried disabling and enabling from the ... menu as well as removing from the groupy options and then enabling again...
I'll revert back to 1.02 for now to test if it works there, really looking forward to + button though.
Edit:
After reverting to 1.02 the autogroup toggle works again. I installed 1.09 on a VM earlier and didn't have an issue, so I'm don't know if the preexisting install of 1.02 caused my issue on my main machine?
Maybe you can try the uninstall reboot and reinstall the new 1.09. Or use some uninstall apps to help the uninstall. You can use WinOptimizer15 which have a lot of feature including uninstaller. You can get more information about it here.

No luck so far, also I went back and checked my VM and it has the same issue now (I may have been remembering wrong), and for the VM it was a fresh install so...
Both windows and VM are on Windows Version 1709 and the VM is build 16299.248.

There will be a new version of Groupy coming out soon. Just hang on.
A new beta build is available for Object Desktop customers. http://download.stardock.com
The new 1.09.5 build no longer has the grouping bug (on my main PC). Thanks for updating me that it was out.
That link to downloads doesn't go anywhere for me though...
