I just tried Groupy and I must say it's a nice idea. I've always been looking for a way to better handle my multiple Explorer windows.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who hates how Windows groups things on the task bar, and thus has it turned off. I would, however, like if I had the option to make windows in a groupy disappear from the taskbar, to be replaced with an entry for the groupy itself. This would allow me to potentially have two groupies (this is starting to sound weird...) of four Explorer windows each show up as two taskbar tabs, rather than either eight or one.
It would also be nice if my Explorer groupies would persist through a reboot, but I'm not sure how you'd do that (or if it isn't already implemented).
I was about to write the same thing so you're not the only one!
It's a great idea to group windows as good as we want except the mess is still visible in the taskbar. By allowing to display the name of only a "groupy", it would allow us to categorize our groups by thematic and to access them more easily. It's like for browsers, if we had to see an item in the taskbar for each tab, it would not be very practical.
That being said, I already love this product!
Another idea, make taskbar icons which are part of a group the same color.. But I would love to see both feature to choose from..
+1 for this - I think this would make Groupy a lot more useful for me. For instance I have all my instant messaging apps in a group which I don't want to see in the taskbar. Instead I just want a Groupy in the taskbar called "Messaging" which would make it a lot easier to manage.
There is a function in Groupy that will combine all the tabs in a group to into one taskbar buttons.

Yes I did see that, and that is the closest to what I want, but that only shows the "active" app in the taskbar, which then flips about when you click on the different apps. Also it isn't then intuitive to click on "Slack" to get to "Facebook Messenger".
I would prefer it just had the Groupy title in the taskbar, and that's it, allowing you to select the different apps via the tabs only. This is how Chrome works for instance if I had each of them as web page tabs.
I have forwarded your request to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We really do appreciate your feedback, Thanks.
