I read the complete comment about our radio waves not escaping the "Milky Way"because of the
enormous distance and the weakness of the signals since radio communications were first
invented - this is a valid concept and it may be exactly why we have not seen more visitors.
The mysteries of our planetary system and those fascinating words"The Universe" will always be perplexing and intriguing to all of those whowonder what is out beyond this wonderful blue planet called Earth. As our"Star-Trek" and "Star Wars" fantasies have stirred our imaginations into a frenzy of excitement with the romantic notions of unlimited space travel, I have some reservedthoughts about the things that one may experience. Going into space "where no man has gonebefore" may not be as exciting as it seems. I do not adhere to the "Big Bang Theory" because it is just a theory and nothing more, but I do believe in intelligent design & engineering & purpose by intelligent thought that has overcome the limitations of this "Universe" including our marvelous solar system. I am constantly amazed at the uncharted egos of university educated doctorates that in the scant time period of 20 to 30 years have convinced the population and their colleagues that all their theoretical hypothesis are the rock bottom truth because they can persuade others to agree with them.

@rg-gs - did I say I knew the "deal"? I just put forward a simple premise. It is foolish to ignore science and base your beliefs and understading of the world around us on a book pieced together almost 2000 years ago. As an aside have you ever done some delving into how the 27books of the bible were put together? It is fascinating.
Jumping up and down saying "no body knows the truth" is in my opinion the foolish action. If humans always took that approach we would still be living in caves

You are counting the old testament. I was referring to the new testament. And I don't expect you to do anything.
As for creationism, it is not a science. Creationism is the belief that God or gods created reality through divine intervention (supernatural). The scientific consensus is that the universe arose through purely natural processes. Many aspects of creationism cannot be tested because they are based on belief, because the ideas are not falsifiable it means creationism is not a science. Creationism is pseudoscience.
I don't believe in a judeo-christian concept of god in the same way that you discount Odin, Zeus and the thousands of other gods that people have held to be true over the ages. You are free to believe what you like. I think we will continue to disagree on what is a more likely origin of reality so I think it is best left at that.

Creationism is not just an idea held by christians.
The only thing any one is talking about is the bible, so no one has read any books on creationism. So when i suggest both sides i can see no one looked at the science behind, or giving creationism a chance. Not arguing consensus just suggesting that some are well educated, and qualified scientists.

Being argumentive is non-productive but let me, if I may, confess some observations you my find contemplative.
God is not an Ogre carrying a big club to beat you into submission if you choose not to learn the difference between
right and wrong. He’s not going to interfere with your self destructive lifestyle if this life makes you happy. We have many
terrorist that have chosen to destroy the U.S. if they can and God has many enemies here on earth that hate all Godly
people and those who follow peace. God has given to every Human being a free gift that has a powerful and profound
effect on their life. It is the free and willful gift of “Freedom of Choice”. Yes in answer to your statement, God is an Alien
compared to our choices. His Power – His endless Wisdom – His Armies of Archangels that defeated the Archangel Lucifer
and all his followers in a universal war that took place not on this Earth are all Alien to us as passing observers.
But I would rather that God not be Alien to me and that I not be Alien to Him as my years accumulate and I find my end has come.
God has a “Prime Directive” He will not violate and that is Your Free Will to choose who you will be and what you will become.
You can choose to Hate God and blame everything on Him because you will not accept responsibility for your own thoughts
and actions or you can claim He does not exist and this is all a fabrication of someone’s imagination and in the process
use your mind to rationalize all the concepts of God and Religion and intelligent design and purpose away and claim you
came from a tadpole. God has warned us that the rational mind is at enmity with God and will not yield the truth.
Some things have to be accepted by pure faith in what He said and described as truth even if we don’t as of yet understand
completely. If you ask in pure faith – He will in due time give you a complete answer. He does not choose to cut off your head
if you don’t believe Him as some religions do. But God chooses to nurture you with love and kindness and long suffering on His
part until you decide to ask with an open mind without preconceived thoughts about who and what He is and what His plan
my be for your life. He will not override or force Himself upon an unwilling soul if you fight and resist. All of life is a struggle and
our free will is our determination to survive. Everyone on Earth will die in due time and our days are numbered by Him.
You must have faith in yourself and your freedom to determine the outcome of your life. “Faith is the Substance of things
hoped for and the clear evidence of things not seen.” “ The Just shall live by Faith” This is why we as a Nation
we will never be defeated. We can be wounded but we are the Sleeping Dragon and you don’t want to kick the Dragon.
Every Tyrant in the World that kicked this Dragon no longer exist today. I want to offer up to you a puzzle or a bit of conundrum
if you will – God knew that our small Sun was so powerful that it would scorch and burn our atmosphere away and that all life
would never be able to survive the Solar Winds and Cosmic radiation so He lined up Mercury and Venus to take much of the assault
and spaced the Earth at a very Precise distance so we were close enough to enjoy the benefits but far enough that our internal shielding
(The Iron Core and resulting magnetic field) would form the Aurora Borealis and protect the unknowing inhabitants. My question to
you, Would call this preconceived intelligent thought and design or just a bunch of rocks that haphazardly fell into place.

The big bang theory does not disprove God. In fact it was rejected early on because it meant there was a beginning to the universe. In any case, "let there be light". In the beginning there was nothing, then it exploded. Within the first trillionth of a trillionth of a second the Higg's boson particle was created. Without it nothing would exist as it is today. The only thing that does not require the particle is light. "Let there be light!" There is no way for evolution or chance to explain the creation of the particle.

I am a Christian, but I feel that most religious people refuse to see the awesome things science can provide us. There's so much in the universe that we can learn. Turning a blind eye because it makes you think is so insane... I refuse to deny myself the ever evolving theories surrounding how we were made and why the universe operates the way it does.

There are many great Christian Scientist that will wind up saving your life when your Doctor tells you, You have
cancer. No educated intelligent person has "turned a blind eye" to anything. Educated people all over the
world all seek the truth in all things. I spent a lot of time in India and I have met some of the most advanced
educated people in the World and they were Hindu - I am a Christian but there was nothing wrong with our
deep respect for one another. Give people a chance and they will surprise you.

The expanding Universe - I agree with - it is self evident - but the "Big Bang" was the spoken word as
described in Genesis - and yes it is still active today.
I grew up Protestant, Methodist to be exact. Nothing exists without a reason therefore every religion on Earth has a reason to be. We are all products of our environments and what we learn along the way. Personally I prefer good solid hard evidence, the kind you can pick up and hold. The scientific method provides that. It boasts of theories. Theories can either be proven correct or false over time. Einstein's was a perfect example of that. His theories have held for a century. Even his predictions of gravitational waves was proven. Yet he was a religious man but kept the two apart. Some believe the Earth was created six thousand years ago. If that were the case then how do you explain the presence of modern humans in North America forty thousand years ago. Or the existence of Gobekli Tepe twelve thousand years ago in what is now Turkey. Kind of hard to argue with the archaeological evidence staring you in the face. Or how about Eve, the oldest known human ancestor dated at three point five millions years ago. I could go on but you get the idea.
None of which, by the way, has anything to do with the OP. Think we can stick to that?

Actually you can argue with that: you can argue with the age. The whole Carbon-14 dating thing is a house of cards, if you look at it. You can carbon-14 date your blood right now, and you'll discover it is several hundred years old. There is no archaeological evidence of Eve, so it is in fact hard to argue the exact opposite: that you even know her age at all.
