So after reading OOzimOO's really good post on galactic projects https://forums.galciv3.com/485054/page/1/#3689611I was thinking that given some of what has already been stated for what is coming up in the next DLC or expansion I thought about how much the UP is just sorta... there.... it really doesn't do much in GCIII and could be much much more interactive.First, it needs to meet more often. every 15 turns or so would not be out of whack. make it more like the UN... All races agree to embargo any "warmonger" races.. all races give 1% of their production to "weakest link" But mostly I wish the UP actually had some diplomatic options to it.The note that the UP meets in X turns is basically nothing... we the player cannot do anything with it. Once a vote is called we have no more influence than our own Civ influence.So here are my thoughts on changes for Crusade and the next Exp..Civs should have one UP vote per Civ and then one vote per Diplomat. Techs such as UP lobbyist should provide extra votes. Races that have Diplomatic bonuses such as the Altarians should also have a bonus of some sort...Rather than having a countdown and no real ability to sway the vote we should have the bill announced 5 turns before the vote."The UP will meet in 5 turns to vote on the UP chair" after that... "The UP will meet in 5 turns to vote on Ending wars"Races with either high diplomacy or High Espionage can see what other races are likely to vote on. In the "lets talk about something else" area of the diplomacy screen there could be an option to buy or coerce a vote.Voting against a Race in the UP should hurt Diplomatic Ties. Agreeing to vote one way and then not voting that way should/could trigger sanctions or war.In the Espionage area there should be options to "sway public opinion" to get people to vote one way due to their population wanting them to vote that way.. etc...Either way that simple change would make the UP into something that could really influence a game and the dynamic of a game... rather than just something that.... is in the game...
