So what are your feelings about latest iPhone?
Personally, i would indeed like to have it, it looks mighty fine. Would take it over iPhone 8 for sure, which now looks pretty obsolete. That price though - 1200 EUROs over here... i still use iPhone 5S, which i bought 3 years ago and it cost me 830 EUROs. Already that was expensive...now 3 years later, another 400 more? Where does this end?
Simple. When everyone says enough is enough and no one purchases the latest version. Skin a version or 2 even and watch the price go down.
Saying that one will never see the price go down. To many millions of people that will continue to purchase the latest versions of many things. This is whether they need it or not.
You say you still use the iPhone 5S. Sure you use it because of the high prices of new ones. But you can because it still works and does what you need. Most people don't do that as it would be so bad if they had an older version and their friends had the latest version. They feel forced to get the latest versions as it gives them the right to say. My new version is great. Even when they can barely pay for it.
Can't still see any logical reason to replace my Samsung S2.
It still works just fine.
Always having a work phone didn't need my own phone till I retired. When I retired I purchased a Samsung S4. It also works fine and still have it.
$1000 so I can animate a shitface emoji?
Don't think so.
You might even see the price go UP since Apple will be unable to keep up with demand. Get your hands on one for $1000 and sell it to some anxious type with money for $2000.
Such is the way of the world.
Words to live by
The Unabomber's perspective.
I was looking at a picture of iPhone X and the word "dildo" popped up in my mind. This smartphone fetish has gone too far. Yes, I'm a bitter man and I'm going to call it iDildo X. With a price tag of $1000 you have to put some rubber around it in case you drop it.
Innovation is good, but the smartphone fetish has to die.
Had a Samsung S3, upgraded to an S6 Edge when it came out, will never need another cell phone. Oh, and I would never use any Apple product, even if I got it free, it would go directly to the trash!
Wouldn't pay tuppence for an Apple phone. Didn't like them around about the second version when I had a good look at one and opted for the Windows Phone 8 instead, and I see no compelling reason to get one now. My Windows phone still works perfectly well 10 years later and I'm happy with it.
Yeah, I know, plenty will say it lacks the apps of iPhone and Android, but the Windows Phone 8 does all I need and then some. Besides, who really needs an app store with so many multiples of the same thing? All the important ones to me are available in the Windows Store.... and what isn't, I don't need anyhow.
I might pick one up haven't decided. Maybe an iPhone 8 Plus instead. I want the better camera features.
I still have the original very first iPhone that I still use to this day. It is in MINT condition since I placed it in the Otter Box phone case the day I got it. I wonder if it will ever be worth any money in the years to come. --Ace--
Probably the safest, most secure iPhone at this point. Very prescient of you.
I have a brand new ZTE 814 smart phone. My other one died of unexplained causes so I had to replace it. It cost me all of $25.00. That's a bargain and then some. It does everything I need it to do. Has a nice camera, a bunch of apps preloaded that I don't use. The type of phone I have used to be called an Obama phone because it's a government issue. If I call it a Trump phone it may get up and do stupid stuff.
Oh , you mean like going on an apology tour and bowing to Leaders of terror Nations.....God Forbid !!....oh wait , that was Obama !!
OK, guys....no Politics allowed here.....
Daiwa said 'prescient' and you two thought he said 'president'.....
Like call Kim Jong Un and tell him he's a rocket man who's on a suicidal path to total destruction.
Or call the Mexicans demanding the first payment on 'the wall'
Edit:
Sorry, Jafo, but I was thinking of stupidity rather than politics... and Trump [the man?] has it in spades
Finally we have a President that not only has common sense but also the intelligence of a successful business man, not to mention a leader with some YUGE brass balls. #MAGA !!!!
Sorry Jafo, but if there is going to be drive -by insults of my President, then I get to drive-by and defend my President. ' Nuff said. -- Ace --
I had a Samsung 4s and it was great. Never thought I'd buy another but when I turned 70 I said I can't take the $$$$ with me so I treated myself to the Samsung 8+. As LightStar said, I wouldn't own an apple product.
Same here... well almost. I do own a Mac Mini computer, which I bought more out of curiosity than anything. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about after hearing so many fanbois raving on about Apple's 'superior' OS-X operating system. Yes it has some nice features and I do enjoy using it, but frankly, I do prefer Windows OSes.
As for the iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc, wouldn't touch 'em with a pole. Closed systems with no USB ports, having to use the Apple store for all apps and content, are not user friendly in my book and are useless to me. I want more freedom than that and can't see why the Apple fanbois rave on about them. Mind you, with Apple reportedly removing long-standing features from the next release of irubbish, maybe some of those fanbois will start thinking about alternatives with greater freedom.
Okay, Apple's 'superior' hardware is under scrutiny yet again. It Seems the iPhone 8 is experiencing issues with the screens coming adrift from the main unit. Also, a number of customers are complaining about loud crackling during calls, so not all is well with the latest iPhone release.
How glad I am to not be an Apple fanboi.

Maybe they're stuffing too much in the phone and nothing wants to play nice. I think it's more of a quality control issue. Sometimes it goes by the way side to increase the profit margin. I dunno
Yeah, the quality control wasn't what it should have been, but then what can you expect when Apple pays its Asian workers a pittance, often for long hours and six day weeks. Of course something had to give... like quality control, the effort of workers under duress, etc.
And to think, Apple is talking about a software patch to fix the splitting phone issue. Seems more like a faulty hardware issue to me.

You know it makes sense
Long as the subject has come up, call voice quality is usually more a carrier issue than hardware issue. Specifically, VoLTE still sucks and it looks like the default setting is to enable both voice & data over LTE. The recent iOS11 update & carrier update that accompanied it reset my phone to that default & nobody could understand what I was saying. As soon as I figured it out & changed the LTE setting to data only, the problem was resolved & I'm crystal clear to people again.
Worth checking your settings if you're having voice quality issues: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Enable LTE. Select 'Data Only'.
