Upgrade has made some big changes to how the (base) game works. Should we expect a new manual taking these into account? Maybe a "downrated" Crusade manual?
Okay, where is the latest GCIII manual? F* Steam won't let me download it.
Okay, found it. v. 1.03 is under the Games tab. This site lets you d/l it. Steam doesn't. (I think Steam hates me.)
Original question stands. Will the 2.5 release be accompanied by a manual update? If you (Stardock) think it doesn't need it, then that says more about the shortcomings of the manual than you might be willing to believe.
It should get an update.
Thanks, Brad.
As CEO of Stardock would you please be more specific?
From your statement I can't even guess whether you mean "yes it ought to get an update", or "yes it's more likely than not that it will get an update".
Personally I find it very frustrating not only to realize that the "current" manual is severely (2+ years) out of date, but also that no even-tentative plans for or even specific thoughts toward an update seem to have been mentioned by you or any other representatives of your company.
Thank you for your consideration.
1.03 i think that might of been the version i read not sure. Stardock should at least update after so many patches. Maybe 6.
1.03 is "current". It's hard to say that it's out of date because there is so little specific in it. Rather than "manual", the title should be "quick start guide". Six pages on ships and no mention of combat? or how to move them?!
And a few statements that are just wrong:
With enough constructors, you can eventually develop a starbase with full mining, researching, cultural and military capabilities.
Sorry, no. It don't work that way.
Still, the production of a manual is a lot bigger project than most people realize. Maybe the manual isn't the best place for this. A wiki would be much easier all around, but really should have official Stardock participation.
