Seen very little mention to the multitude of multiplayer bugs.
No ideology/colonization events on colonizing non-precursor planets
Some precursor planets not providing bonuses e.g. Thulium Moon, no Thulium
Crashes on game initialization and/or starting the game as a different civ than you selected
Desync issue if you end turn and have an idle ship, if you move the idle ship the game hangs in an endless loop, if you pass the game is fine
Some nonmultiplayer bugs
Snathi tech provides +1 to all mines instead of presumably +0.1
I'm sure they are working on it, I know they are aware of most if not all of them already. Hopefully soon we'll see it soon.
A friend and I with the GoG version tried to start a multiplayer game multiple times today.
We both have 2.13, same DLC, went in and cleaned out "Designs" folder (then verified & redownloaded), deleted programData\Stardock, My Games\GC3Crusade, and My Games/GalCiv3 just for completeness' sake.
Could not start a game without whomever joined crashing out immediately, no matter what we did.
Anyone actually got an MP game working at 2.13 or is it just buggered?
sigh.
I've gotten MP games working in 2.13/Crusades (GoG version) - but they always crash and they are unrecoverable from the crash currently. It's frustrating, but then GC3 MP is a frustrating experience generally right now (can't use custom civs, no Mega Events, etc. etc.). It's unfortunate, because GC3 Crusades MP3 is actually a blast, despite its issues, when it's working.
This is my largest wish for MP at this point. If not that a substitute for gaining random ideology points throughout the game as right now what ever you can get through the initial colony rush (or if you spend on a building that creates ideology at that time) is the only way to get ideology. Therefore the "feel" of MP games doesn't match that of SP games because that is missing. I hope sometime in the future, once they fix MP and, get it working again this is looked at.
As far as the general MP issues (crash on starting/unrecoverable saves/stuck on turn after several turns) I'm sure will be solved. Hopefully sooner than later as to this point Crusade has effectively killed the MP game. Frogboy, I know has several ideas on how to get custom factions w/ custom ships back into the MP game, however, I'm assuming this won't be a quick add in but, hopefully that won't be too long either as I know many people, including myself, love their own custom factions.
Just hold in there, I know it's frustrating but, it will be worth it.
Update: my friend and I are able to start and play multiplayer GOG-version games of Galciv3:Crusade as of the 2.5 update.
Woot!
Don't care if this was fixed inadvertantly or if Stardock finally decided to address the GOG MP crashing, but I'm quite a happy camper either way.
