Heya. So I've been playing sins of a solar empire for close to a decade now. Its the ONLY game on my computer that I ALWAYS have installed. Ive pumped over 230 hours of it on steam, and easily quadruple that off steam. I love this game. Love it. Favourite RTS of all time.
I know Im not alone, my friends are in a similar situation. And we desperately want a true sequel to Rebellion.
Rebellion added so much to the game. More than I could of hoped for. It was incredible. But the hardware limitations make mid game and above painful. Going as long as 5 fps on my gaming rig, when I should be getting 60fps. We need a new game with a new engine. Maybe some new races and new ships? I dont know. But please make this happen.
My friends and I would be ultra keen for a True sequel to sins. We would buy that so fast. We will give you our money. Please just make this happen. I want it, my friends want it, and I know many others want it too.
You are preaching to the choir here
Anyway, agreed 120 percent . Would buy 100+ EUROs Lifetime Founders Edition before you could say "Draginol".
Only 230 hours? I've got almost 600 hours. and yes. I'm really getting tired of waiting on a Sins 2. I cant for the life of me figure out why Yarlen and company are sitting on their laurels not making a true squeal.
Come on IC? Get this show on the road already!!
Agreed. They updated the website's background picture specifically for the release of Rebellion and now they've kinda stagnated significantly since they released the 5th anniversary update to Rebellion.
I recently went back and played a game, and even though this game is comparatively old, it is FUN. I know that any sequel would be mind blowing when made with the resources and technology available today. Ships with turrets instead of just static mounts, new types of super weapons with crazy effects, perhaps even a campaign!
Yes, new super weapons like the ION Cannons I created in my mod.
I love those things, they work great and are great for defending back end areas and choke points.
The game itself has a TON of lore enough to make a campaign for the sequel, should there ever be one. I want to know what all happened when the Vasari ran, what was decided when the TEC reorganized, as well as what was colloquially agreed upon when the Advent decided to strike when the Traders were focused on the Vasari front.
Could be reading far too much in to this yet the huge 1.9 update seems like the kind of thing a company, say Ironclad, might do to draw a lot of people back in to Sins just in time for some sort of big announcement.
Also could just be that they still want to just keep Rebellion relevant but I forever live in hope for Sins 2
I agree. But then again, the 1.9 update WAS for their release of Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion back in 2012... But we don't really know FOR SURE if that's the case or not.
Only 600 hours? I said I have 230 logged into steam. Ive been playing this game since release buddy But yeah. Idk if they'll ever do it. I just want people to know there is so much interest for this.
1,324 hrs. on steam only!
Don't know the totally hrs. i played sins. ( rebellion and the versions before )
Most of the time i play with Interregnum mod.
This game seems to be a drug for me....
If they announced a sequel to Sins, it'd be legit one of the few games I'd go out of my way to make room for in my budget.
A few nights eating instant noodles so I can get a new Sins? I'll take that deal. This would be me:
I like the idea to.
I currently have 1,499 hours just in Rebellion. I have owned every CD copy they ever made including the collectors edition. I have owned it from the beginning.
They need a sequel because large games suck regardless of the hardware.
Love this game,
-J
I saw everyone posting how much they played Sins and got to thinking "Hey, I have played alot of Sins, I wonder how much"...
2410 hours....
I am definitely ready for Sins 2
I feel your pain
Well, we pretty much know this is happening right?
1) They changed the Facebook logo to a 2
2) They are hiring more people, including Creative Writers amongst other things (which might be for a campaign)
3) They are fixing the foundations of the game, but not adding new features, and coincidentally staying below v2.0 (though that might be nothing)
I mean... plenty of signs even if you disregard number 3.
There are many great features available to you once you register, including:
