WindowsBlinds 10, ObjectDock 2.2ish, Fences, n stuff runs on Server 2012 R2 -- if you didn't know. Haven't moved to Server 2016 yet.
Usually, but not always, on reboot Dexpot makes ObjectDock docks unfunctional/frozen and I have to restart ObjectDock. But that's a different Virtual Desktop product.
Well I would like to have a way in the customize civilization a way to create my own tech trees. Customizing not modding.
Just read the February 2017 newsletter, and was curious about the little piece on handles. In particular, the part about "bring up task manager (ctrl-shift-tab), go to Details and then add the Handles column." I've never opened task manager with anything but ctrl-alt-del, and ctrl-shift-tab doesn't do anything in Win 7 on the desktop. Given that there's no Details in task manager, I'm wondering if you're referring to something else? Or am I missing something even more obvious?

- open the task manager as usual - go to the processes tab - I am not exactly sure what's the english wording (I run german windows) but in the top bar, you see something like "data - options - view - ?" - open "view->choose columns" - check handles in there
handles should now be displayed alongside ram-usage etc.
I guess I will have to check this after a longer galciv3 session at some point

Well, your instructions worked quite nicely upon opening task manager with good old ctrl-alt-del. Lots of processes but handles values are quite modest. The highest was vsmon at just under 3500. Very few above 1000. I guess that's good news. But something to keep in mind if the computer seems slower than normal. Do you simply restart the system when a process or more is above 30,000?

YAY!! WOOOH HOOOOH!!!Sorry, I've just read that a virtual desktops program is under development.
I love using virtual desktops, but all of the ones I could find for Windows seem to be open source abandonware. The virtual desktops implementation in W10 is flawed in two big ways: firstly, you can't label the virtual desktops; secondly, they don't persist between sessions.
I think Stardock write great software, so I know their efforts at a decent virtual desktops program for W10 will be great.

You can always right click the task bar and choose task manager.
Both the task bar right-click and ctrl-shift-esc are direct to task manager, which I should hope to remember. But I've been using crtl-alt-del for well over two decades -- my fingers are moving before my brain catches up.
Columns isn't there, so I can't choose it, nor can I see handles.

I'm here. But my recommendation would be a YouTube video to learn task manager.
Jim right click on the word Name at the top of the column and choose Select Columns a box will open up.
Try opening task manager, selection View and then Column Options at bottom of drop-down menu under View. There are all kinds of column options with checkboxes, similar to Windows Explorer, View, Choose Details.
Well I was trying a virtual computer awhile back called VMware player. The problem it required another operating system. I would consider stardocks if it doesn't require another operating system. Does windows 10 virtual computer require another operating system, and if not how do I set it up.

I have Win 10 on rarely used year-old notebook, Win 7 on everyday desktop.
I'm okay with 10, but I mostly use notebook to stream European football matches. And I know Win 7 support dies in a few years.
