If it is because the game is looking for an appropiate bk2 file, and I am almost it is as that's the only thing that makes sense, really curious WHY it's happening, since that no bk2 files are directly called in any of your xmls in the mod. A chain thing going on though maybe? An xml is calling on another xml?
Curious.
Not sure how much help I'm being here, but the happy/neutral/angry pic really is the only thing that makes sense to me when it comes to the CTD. That still doesn't take care of the "Missing Mood Display Def" bit, unless it is showing that because the game doesn't know what mood to display.
EDITED::: Ah. "DiplomacyMovieType". Gotcha. Gonna start looking there to see the culprit then.
Gonna try changing:
<DiplomacyMoodDisplayDef> <InternalName>DiplomacyDisplay_Elated</InternalName> <MoodRange> <RangeMin>15</RangeMin> <RangeMax>15</RangeMax> </MoodRange> <DisplayName>ID_DIPLOMACY_MOOD_ELATED</DisplayName> <ColorDef>ID_DiplomacyLovesColor</ColorDef> <Icon>ID_APPROVAL_ALLY_ICON</Icon> <DiplomacyMovieType>Happy</DiplomacyMovieType> </DiplomacyMoodDisplayDef>
to
<DiplomacyMoodDisplayDef><InternalName>DiplomacyDisplay_Elated</InternalName><MoodRange><RangeMin>15</RangeMin><NoMax>true</NoMax></MoodRange><DisplayName>ID_DIPLOMACY_MOOD_ELATED</DisplayName><ColorDef>ID_DiplomacyLovesColor</ColorDef><Icon>ID_APPROVAL_ALLY_ICON</Icon><DiplomacyMovieType>Happy</DiplomacyMovieType></DiplomacyMoodDisplayDef>
Yep! This change looks to have done it!
I get the proper mood and I can speak to them without CTDs. Huzzah!!!
Interestingly enuf, the NoMin setting was already there for the negative end so I didn't have to change anything there.
Time to start a fresh game, I suppose.
Movies should not CTD. I have allowed for that in the code. I have however caped the Diplo at 15...by pure stupidness, forgot to add a <NoMax>true</NoMax> to the last entry. Try this.
That's the change I already made. So, yeah, looks to be working. As I said earlier, great mod, BTW.
Updated Nexus with new versions.
Updated ID - Gamplay and Cosmetic -
Does this mod only affect diplomacy states and treaties? Will I be able to remove it OK if for some reason I'm not happy with it?
Removed Gauntlet's Race Mod and I had to wipe every trace of GC3 and reinstall it from scratch!
Thanks for making this mod.
If your not happy with it, just remove it from the mod folder.
Theres 2 versions of this mod:
ID - Cosmetic which just effects Diplomacy states, no gameplay changes.
ID - Gameplay and Cosmetic which changes States, Modifiers and redesignes the Emabssy line. Basicly makes diplomacy non cheesey! (Well less cheesey)
Thanks.
I'm not quite clear on a couple of points though.
- Does just "Cosmetic" also include the new Treaties change?
- I see the just "Cosmetic" d/l files also contain an "AI Tweaks" folder with a file in it. I take it we're supposed to copy this folder also to our Mod folder for this mod to work?
Yep, the file you see here is in seperate folder to keep compatibility with AI Tweaks. No gameplay changes as such, just extendes the range for diplomacy/trade from 10 to 15.
No, you will have to Download TWA seperatly, they are compatible. If you use ID - Gameplay and Cosmetic, you do not, as this already contains TWA.
TBH you should just use IAI (Improved AI)
Thanks!
Hi again, I'm afraid this mod isn't currently working. I have the old plusses and minuses under diplomacy.
I enabled mods in the game, restarted GC3 and started a new game. What could be wrong? Thanks.
Did you install it properly?
Yes, as far as I can see.
in the ...Documents/My Games/GalCiv3/Mods folder do you see Informative Diplomacy folder?
Yes, the folder's called "Informative Diplomacy - Cosmetic 1.6-81-1-6" and has "Informative Diplomacy" and "AI Tweaks" subfolders.
And there lies your problem. "Informative Diplomacy - Cosmetic 1.6-81-1-6" that should not be there. Informative Diplomacy" and "AI Tweaks they should be within the Mod folder not in "Informative Diplomacy - Cosmetic 1.6-81-1-6"
Thanks, got it working now (on my desktop, GC3 still won't work on my laptop!).
Just want to say thanks, finding diplomacy more informative and interesting now. Haven't tried the new Alliance mod feature yet but have installed it.
Suggestion for diplomacy mod: have the figures totalled at the bottom, allowing the user to quickly see where they stand numerically - in addition to the stated moods - I'm adding up the figures manually at the moment. Just an idea.
I would love to be able to do this, but I can not, it is handled in the UI which atm is out of bounds for modding.
Updated for 2.0.
Sweet thanks Horemvore!
Been trying to use only the Informative Diplomacy 1.6 and seems not to be working correctly.
I don't know how I could have possibly missed this mod, but I just noticed it. Looks great!
Looking forward to checking it out!
