The beta for IconPackager 10 is now available for current Object Desktop members.
You can download from your Stardock account here: http://download.stardock.com
If you find any bugs or have any feedback about the beta, please use this thread to report them. Please include screenshots and as much information about your problem or feedback that you can include.
WARNING. If you have IP 5.x installed on Windows 8/10 DO NOT uninstall it before installing IP10. Doing so will cause damage to icon associations that IP10 will not be able to fix. Install IP10 OVER IP5.x
Beta 2 update (7/18/16):
I can see a way to find out what the set uses as overlays. Am I missing something?
And no. IP5 never installed on Win10.
Please add the option to remove overlays in IP 10, Neil.
Semantics
Installed on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. The only issue is on Windows 8.1. If I open IconPackager and then right click on the button in the taskbar to pin it to the taskbar, it will not bring up the option to pin to taskbar. The only thing that comes up is to close the program, nothing else.
how do you activate icon packager 10 beta it asks for a key where and how do I got it!
Use your Object Desktop key from your Stardock account, or activate with your Stardock account.
thanks for helping me activate icon packager 10 beta using the object desktop key I have used a number of time with no problems all of the packages I use are custom made so thanks again.
Bug: Just quickly, some Iconpackages downloaded from Wincustomize exhibit odd behavior. For example, Mystic has all the Icons for a complete package, but the first time I applied it the "This PC" and Network icons were not changed. Upon preview, these Icons were also missing from the Preview (they were there before I tried to apply the package). I then installed a different package, deleted the Mystic package, reinstalled Mystic and applied it and all the desktop icons were normal, but two or three of the special folders in explorer were not applied (Favorites and My Documents I think). Upon preview again, those icons were missing as well from preview but were there before I applied.
EDIT: I am on a fresh install of Win 10

JLA
Just waitin on a response........
I'm on Win 7 Ultimate x64. Do I have to uninstall IP before I install this new version? Thanks.
Is there an estimated time for the first public Release of IP 10 ?
I am having a few problems. File type icons do not seem to change when I change them. the ones i have tried are avi, mpg, mov. My other problem is that object dock does not use the new folder icons I have applied.
Anyone got anything to say about this?
Bug, Feature? Weirdness? - Just downloaded iconpackager for Win 10 on a freshly upgraded rig. Installed, and selected the "Junior" package by treetog and all was well. However, came back 2 hours later and for some reason switched to Flash Live.
Playing around with it I noticed if I have 2 windows 10 PCs and I install an Iconpackage on one, it changes the icon package installed on the other to match.
Is this by design?
If so, then can you give me an option to stop it?
EDIT: Never mind, this has nothing to do with Iconpackager.... it is a 'feature' of windows 10. Apparently the desktop icons (This PC, Recycle Bin, Network, etc) are 'synced' if the following conditions are met:
a. you are using windows 10
b. you log on using the windows online account method
and
c. you have sync settings enabled with sync Theme enabled on all PCs.
On Windows 8.1.
When I Load an icon pack and make changes to it, then save it, it rearranges the icons that were previously in the pack so that they point to different things.
I had this same problem with Icon Packager 4 and 5 back on 7 and vista. I really hope this gets fixed otherwise this will be unusable.
Thank you Stardock;-) Installed on my Laptop running Win 7 Ultimate x64. Works like a charm. Really love the recoloring of Icons.
It is extremely important not to make any changes to the numbering system in an Icon Package Folder. If you add an extra icon or rearrange the icons in any way, they will not display for the programs or utilities they were meant to represent. For example , if you were to make a change to say.....icon #26......any changes you make must be saved as a replacement for ....icon#26 , so as to preserve the numbering system. The numbering and arrangement of the icons in an IconPackager Folder is CRITICAL !!! --Ace ---
I am using Icon Packager itself to change the icons in the package. Should I never overwrite an Icon package and always save it as a new one?
It is always better to save any altered packages as a new package. Just rename the new pack to something different than the original.

Just wanted to "bump" this thread to express how much I'm enjoying the new Iconpackager 10. I've been running it from day 1 on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and it has performed absolutely flawlessly. The stability and reliability of this new program is absolutely amazing. I've not had a single issue with icons not displaying properly. To the Stardock Team , I want to say thank-you and congradulations on a job well done. -- Ace --
I seem to be having trouble with modified live folders. They don't show in windows explorer but they do show in the open/save dialogs. they previously showed in explorer. I have tried rebuilding the cache and rebooting.
Okay, I switched back to default icons, uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled. Live folders are working now. Object dock still seems to be using windows defaults though.
I just want to say I am very gratefull you guys are updating this program. For me it is one of the main selling points of object desktop.
Edit : After a reboot, Object dock seems to be working correctly.
