Hello to ya all!
Please post your colonization suggestions here! I am willing to code said suggestions into a mod, I am however not very creative when it comes to names and descriptions so if you could include these in your suggestion it will help a great deal!
Current Events I am toying with, I have had inspiration for a few events from Stellaris and Natural Phenomenon that occur around our planet:
Maelstorms
Cave Formations
Ice caves
Sentient Forest (Stellaris)
Sesmic Disturbances (Stellaris)
Subterranean Aliens (Stellaris)
Meteor Showers
Intense Storms
Sinkholes
Acidic Rain
Geothermal Activity
Fire Rainbows
Auroras
Bioluminescent Waves
Supercells
The Mother of All Motherlodes
The colonizing team found vestigial traces of a large impact crater on the Western Continent of this planet. Mapping that circle indicated an impact point long covered in more recent layers of terrain. Underneath, the team found that the asteroid that made the ancient impact was nearly pure gold. A micro thin layer of gold particles has been identified in the older sedimentary rocks showing a cloud of gold dust settled there, and confirms the impact dating. The bulk of the buried asteroid is still intact, and even though gold isn't worth as much as it was before hyper-gravity induced transmutation, this opportunity cannot be wasted.
B: You're right. Carefully mine what we can without damage. Donate the proceeds to charities, especially orphanages. Pictures of happy orphans make everybody happy!
+30% Approval +20% Growth +10% Food
P: You're right. Everybody loves staring at huge piles of gold, even if it isn't theirs. Double purpose the mines into theme parks and sell tickets!
+5 Wealth (per turn) +5 Influence (per turn) +100% Tourism
M: You're right. Scoop out all that stuff you can! It will help pay for all our fleets and decorate the Admiral's Quarters!
-20% Wealth -15% Maintenance all ships
Funny Fumes
All over the planet vent holes can be found that emit colourful sparkling gases into atmosphere. These gases when inhaled or in a lesser extend on skin contact seem to have hallucinogenic properties. Further investigation indicates that the hallucinations are universally benign. Our mental healthcare workers are ecstatic about these gases and demand more research, since it appear that a number of mental illnesses can be successfully treated with them. However our chief medical adviser warns us to be cautious that even while the craving interval is rather large, failing to obtain a dose when the craving does come can lead to a catatonic state or even dead.
B: It is our duty to cure or at least lighten the suffering of the mentally ill, research the healing properties of the gases and find a counter agent for the addictive properties. Happiness +20%, Research +20%, Growth +20%, Wealth -10%
P: Cordon off the vent holes to prevent accidental access. But anyone who wants it, is free to have a mental trip, however they should not expect any help thereafter from us. Make tourist attractions from the most impressive vents, but keep them away for actual physical contact with the gas. Happiness +10%, Tourism +20%, Wealth +20%
M: Cap all the vent holes and capture the gases. Give newborns their first dose at birth and threaten anyone disloyal or lazy with denial of their daily dose. And if there are sufficient surpluses sell it on the black market. Raw production +20%, Happiness +20%, Wealth +10%
Creepy Cranial Crawlers of Creative Chaos
After touchdown all our colonists were infected by an indigenous airborne microscopic larva. These larva once settled in the brain of the afflicted grew into tiny millipede-like creatures with elongated claws that hooked themselves into the cranial mass of their hosts, making it exceedingly hard to excise them without damaging the surrounding tissue. These - lets call them - Mindpedes secrete a substance that massively alters the mental and intellectual capabilities of the host. The thought processes of the host become chaotic, paranoid, but also very creative and of staggering intelligence.
B: Exterminate the Mindpedes. We must protect the sanity and well being of our people at all cost, even at the loss of any potential gains. Happiness +20%, Wealth -20%.
P: Protect our people from the Mindpedes, but keep them alive for study in laboratories. Especially analyse the secretion that effectuates the increased creativity and intelligence. Happiness -10%, Wealth -10%, Research +20%
M: This resource is of paramount importance, we must protect and expand it at all cost. Screw the well being of the workers, and if they die or don't reproduce fast enough then we can always force immigrate new workers from other planets. Happiness -80%, Resistance -90%, Influence -80%, Growth -80%, Research +500%

They will be in version 1.2
