I know its probably too early, to be doing these questions.
But i have been looking at the Assets folder, and i obviously found the easy to acess .dds texture files, and they are mentioned in the .Pallete files which is just a regular .txt file.
I was wondering about the .MeshDesc that show mesh names and material names, but i cannot seem to find where they are exactly located.
More complicated Mesh descriptors(i think thats what their called anyways) almost look like scene graphs, pointing towards individual geometry groups. So far everything looks obvious in terms of where it is located, except the material and mesh files, which i bet are still in some .pak or .dat file.
Am i right? if so will we eventualy have acess to these files?
I like the idea of modders being able to do stuff now. When XCOM 2 came out didn't a bunch of player made mods for it come out at the same time? This game won't have Steam mod integration off the bat so that was unlikely I suppose but perhaps the Devs can put together a somewhat technical guide/blueprint to modding for those who can and desire to mod.
Guides are always welcome.
But i wouldnt mind them just telling us some random things like how to acess these meshes, since the textures files are already easily editable.
Granted there isnt any kind of propper mod folder, and from what i can see we are directly changing the games assets.
Need a guide on how to add new models + animations and set them up as new units..
Here is the modding guide.
