ADMIN EDIT : IconPackager 10 is now available from www.iconzone.com and supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
I am very sure that some people have been asking in the past ..........
...... BUT .... would Stardock be Updating Iconpackager for Windows 10?
I really HATE Windows icons since day one LOL
Plus I want to use the icons to match with my Windowblinds 10 themes.
Well it seems the votes are in [except from the lurkers who NEVER comment, EVER] and it's unanimous, Win10 icons are fugly and Iconpackager IS ESSENTIAL to making the desktop complete when using Windowblinds. Not that it matters a great deal to me personally, as I do not run Win 10, but I am voicing my support for my fellow customisers who do.
I used Fences on and off but at the end of the day it is like sweeping the trash under the carpet, only hiding the clutter. I don't even have docks anymore, using 'Bins' or the most used shortcuts. With customized icons of course.
Installed IP on Windows 10 with all the cons - on the other hand I don't plan to uninstall it. Using readymade packages maybe difficult with other languages than english, so that is not an option for me.
To me windowblind's and iconpackager is like peanutbutter and jelly. Can't have one without the other.
cardinalsyn_25 is correct.... i can't understand anyone who thinks otherwise.....
Then you probably won't understand 90% of Stardock customers. I like most people would love to have a IP but to say Windowblinds is useless without it or even not as good is just silly. Windowblinds serves the purpose of changing the general GUI of the OS and makes it more pleasing to the eye with or without stock icons being changed. Changing the icons does make it look more aesthetically pleasing but it is just an improvement on a great looking blind, it is not the be-all and end-all. I reverted back to Windows 7 so it is not an issue for me but when I was using Windows 10 it was also not an issue because I changed my icons using the method that was mentioned in this thread.
i understand all that... but i mean how hard can it possibly be to make iconpackager compatible with windows 10? if you were able to make all the other stardock products work on win 10 then iconpackager shouldnt be that big of an issue i would think? plus im sure it would make tons of customers happy.... including myself...
customizing my desktop just isn't nearly the same with out iconpackager..... it actually would totally turn me off to customizing in general.... without it...
that's why im holding off to upgrade to win 10... i won't do it until all the stardock products i use work perfectly on it....
If and when a decision is made it will be announced.
While it may be true that 90% Of Stardock customers would use Windowblinds in the absence of Iconpackager, cos the default UI is fugly, I would hazard to bet that nearly all would prefer to have both programs, one to compliment the other. I know that if I'd put together a nice dark theme using the other Stardock programs, the last thing I would want to see is those default 'blue' icons that look like escapees from a Fisher Price reject bin.
As for reverting back to Win 7, I know of quite a few people who opted out of Win 10 for a previous version, so while MS is saying it has so many Win 10 users based on activations, I'd suggest the number of actual users is less... given how many users swapped it out for another OS
There is what I don't get. Who bases choice of OS on graphics? The true purpose and functionality of a PC/OS should be why you choose your OS. Beauty is only skin deep.
We basically said the same thing Starkers. I did not say that I would not prefer both, I actually said I would like to have IP. My point being in a form a form of a question is if IP is dropped would you stop using WB? That is what some are suggesting they will do which I don't get.
I am with you Jim. Graphics don't get things done.
getting things done, isnt an issue.... i can always get my work done or anything else i need to do... on any OS for that matter.....even without any stardock program..... i would just like the OS to look nice while im doing it....
But they look gooood
Which is important, of course. But not important enough to control what OS you use. IMHO YMMV
What will you do IF Stardock doesn't have ALL it's programs 10 ready by July or August? Pay for Win10, rather than getting it for free? SMH.
well if i have to then i guess i will... but i would rather not.... as long as iconpackager and windowblinds and cursorfx are ready atleast i will be happy... then ill get the rest of the apps as they become available...
I.D. and Hankers have told you it'll be when it happens, not on your schedule.
Understand? [That's a rhetorical question - don't answer it].

ICO's work perfectly. Also Rocketdock icons work also.
Check them out. I am having been using them since I went Windows 8
OK, since my statements about icons are being misstated as facts about IconPackager, lets just lay it out so we're all clear.
Right now, there is not a scheduled update for IconPackager in the works.
It's something that will be looked in the future, and if there is any updates we'll let you know here on the forums.
Props to ID.
This was not a question.... It was a temporary answer to a problem.
^ so i take it that basically means screw iconpackager.... i know how to read between the lines.... thanks for ruining mine and many others desktop/laptop
customization hobbie....
You can't take a hint, can you?
I use Icon Packager 5 with Win 10 home edition with no problems. I upgraded to Win 10 from Win 7 so re-installed Icon Packager using compatibility assistant set for Win 7. No trouble un-installing or re-installing and no problems restoring all my icons to windows default.
