The majority of PC protection should reside between your ears!
Having been a PC/Network Technician for many, many years before being forced to retire due to disability, I simply use common sense browsing and there isn't any Malware or anything like that on my computers. I can boot to 7, 8.1 or 10 and there isn't anything on any of them in the way of a virus, etc. As far as independent testing.... well, lets just say that scores can be manipulated. Not saying it did/does happen, just that it can happen. I don't review independent test results on anything anyway.
Each is welcome to their opinion, but believing independent testing by multiple parties isn't reliable is idiocy... there's forums for tin hat conspiratorialists, this isn't one of them, and attempting to pass off such quackery is unacceptable due to the extremely serious consequences involved. By your rationale, UL isn't trustworthy or reliable, so you may want to rethink having electronics in your home, electrical wires in your walls, or the concrete supporting any building you enter.I'm not too sure why it is anyone would believe that because they worked in the IT field they're immune from viruses and malware, however it's that hubris that often belies most older technicians over 60 I've had encounters with. How it is one could work in a field where things are always fluid and never stagnant, then believe the field is stagnant around them is beyond baffling.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but being a PC or network specialist/admin does not mean you're a coder or programmer (in fact, it's a good bet you're not), as no coder or programmer would believe they're not susceptible to an exploit written by another programmer. Generally, when the word "technician" is involved in IT, it almost always refers to something to do with hardware, not programming/coding. (This shouldn't be interpreted as a slight against technicians, nor negate the importance of technicians, as technicians are an invaluable commodity to us all.)
Generally, I wouldn't post such an off-topic reply, however anyone trying to sell another user quackery in regards to IT security should never be tolerated and always confronted because of the enormous consequences that could, and most likely will, arise should someone take heed and listen to said quackery.
Just a SUBTLE reminder.
This is Stardock's SUPPORT Forum and anything not actually relevant can and will be deleted.
If anyone wishes to debate the vagaries of AV programming/protection do it elsewhere.
Just remember. Almost always you will never be the highest authority on any subject you can imagine.
AMEN!!

that is current settings. but alas, it is working on windows 10.
Why "alas" ??
I just got around to installing WindowBlinds10 and Start10. First impressions are that it's been well worth the wait. Good work guys!
I tried windowblinds 10 but I am a little bit upset : I had the 7, and the 8. I buyed those. Now must pay another time for the 10 ? It seems to me too much ! Why not upgrade ? It's too much if we must pay for every new update ! I accept you must do money, but there's limit ! I think I will uninstall all my Stardock softwares. It is too much ! It's bad because I like your stuffs...
If you have a previous version of WindowBlinds you can upgrade for a discount. Major versions of software are always paid upgrades.

I' can't seem to find the page with the change log for the latest WB update.
Can someone please post a link? Thanks!

Thank you ID. My fault for not specifying.
I'm looking for the change log to 10.0.5. Is that available?
When I clicked the link to the update notice, the change log was available, but then I lost it.
There were some small fixes for bugs exposed in the Windows Insider program for Windows 10
Ok, thanks!
Hello: I updated from 10.0.3 to 10.0.5 today - However whether I update the program or do a fresh install I end up with a very, very thin taskbars & Start Button (which is distorted) on all skins, also none of the programs added to 'Per Application' as 'ignore & do not skin' remain fully skinned, I have re-done this a couple of times to no avail. Also some programs which were OK skinned before such as 'Reflect Image' have problems such as buttons which are blank - I am even having problems with the 'Object Desktop' window with red lines all over it. None of these problems occurred with version 10.0.3 - The only other Stardock program installed is Start 10 which I updated a few days ago without issue. (Windows 10 all Updates installed/AMD A10-6800K with on chip graphics - 16 GIG Memory)
This is the process I use to update and it seems to work consistently well for me, so if you see anything that might be helpful, feel free:
Download the new version from your account page:
https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products
Temporarily disable your antivirus
Deactivate the currently installed version of WB from within WBConfig
Uninstall the currently installed version of WB
Reboot
Install the new version of WB
Activate the new version of WB
Re-enable your anti-virus
Reboot.
Otherwise you would want to start a ticket with Support here:

and it would also good to paste the information from your WindowBlinds "About" page, and tell them which AntiVirus you're using.
Another good idea would be to save the installer package. It can be a useful backup should you need it. I save all of mne on an external drive including the blinds.

Hello: Did that with same results, very narrow taskbar, clipped start button & a very unstable system, I actually uninstalled ESET (along with associated registry entries) & installed WB to no avail, at least I'm sure it's not the AV? - Submitted a ticket to support. Always have saved software installers, which is a good idea. As I use regular disc imaging it only takes a few minutes to revert the system along with WB 10.0.3 - So will see what support suggest - Thanks for the replies ! Paul
I would recommend providing screenshots to support too as nothing you are reporting is a known issue.
Done a couple of grabs - I would think there are still a fair amount of people still running a version earlier than 10.0.5 though? I today uninstalled all AV & anti-malware (Mbam & Anti-Exploit) & actually running a different AV altogether. One notable annoyance apart from the truncated task-bar is that although Chrome is included in the per application not to be skinned it's not possible to use a Chrome basic blue theme (or any theme) which I've been able to use without problems since the Win 7 version of WB, so WB is having some effect still on software it's not supposed to be touching - Again thanks for any input.
Been in contact with support who have been helpful & tried a few things including using a batch file to remove WB but still end up with a really thin truncated taskbar - I can with some skins able to workaround this by using 'large taskbar' in settings but only works with some skins as others end up far too thick but it works with a few skins which is far better than just having the windows default - Waiting to see if support have any other options but if not it isn't the end of the world !
Can't see a solution so I'm just using the few themes that are usable by altering size in settings & calling it a day, I'll keep an eye on the forums in the unlikely case someone else has a similar problem in the future. Actually Start10 does make the default Windows theme quite pleasant.

I installed Windows 10 version of Windowblinds...downloaded the skins..never worked...uninstalled it..reinstalled it and it still won't work..it will not change for me...what is the problem???
Uninstall Windowblinds and run a good registry cleaner like cCleaner, then reboot. Disable your anti-virus software, right click on the Windowblinds installation file and select Run as Administrator. After installation reboot, re-enable your anti-virus software, then run Windowblinds and see if it works. If it does not, then you need to submit a ticket to support: https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit . You will receive an email with your ticket number. Do not reply to that email and wait until you receive an email from an actual support technician before responding. It make take a few days.
I have a problem with Windows App Store games. All the games from Windows Store have a "Full Screen Button", but with new version no skin has that button included, so now I can't put my games in full screen (maximize is not an option because I need full screen for stereoscopic 3D to work) and I have to unload Windowsblinds when playing (and I play every day).
Maybe there's need an option to force include that button (warning the user that the button will not follow colors and styles from skin)
Sorry we should have documented this. Holding down either shift or ctrl and clicking the maximize button engages fullscreen mode (IF the app supports that)
Adding the button would have looked visually bad in every theme which is why we opted not to make one show.
