Hello to all Friends of Stardock and to all Windowblinds users in special...I am a very satisfied and paying user of Windowblinds since years.remember this old joke?Windows has soo many bugs, someone saydnaa, came the answer. Windows IS a bug !Yeah this old joke refers to the fact, that a complex project like an OS for a personal computer is something that most likely never can be perfectly "finished" or bug free...With hundreds, if not thousands of developers participating in such a giant project, this is simply a natural fact, period.Well, in my memories i find some quiet good ideas in the one or other different interface...The big black cube with "NextSTEP" running on it, has the first incarnation of what we call a "Dock".To me the most genious solution in search for a concept, how to launch your software !And then, remember Amiga ? A truly "intuitive" usable user interface with lots of customization abilities... (MUI for example). Both systems died and Windows ruled the market more or less...And who came to the rescue? Stardock did !!! YAYYYYAfter integrating Stardock software the first time, windows has never been a complete system again, without having it installed !Now i read through the forums, yes, ofcourse curious to find any news about the upcoming WB10 like you all...... but reading all the flames and negative yada yada in most of the threads, can only make me shake my head...Do you know how a football player in the field must feel if there is only booos, complaints and demands coming from the audience ?And have you seen how a even small club can turn a game into a great win, just by getting the power and vibration of a wild and positive cheering horde of loving fans ?Imagine a morning at the Stardock offices... PC's just got started, the coffeemachine makes the first noises and its smell goes through the rooms...Someone sitting at his desk, reading the news, all the sudden shouts: Hey guys... did you read the latest posts here?I would love to see that this thread becomes a collection of cheers, encouragement, and even maybe some constructive ideas .Lets show them guys that there is a big crowd out here that appreciates the hard work they do, and lets give them a good feeling about it !YOU GUYS ROCK! i am sure you'll make it just right... AGAIN! cy
IMO...I doubt anyone could have said it better. A long overdue recognition of all Stardock has done.
Very well said, I totally agree!
Indeedy!
Yeah if it ever gets released..I was hoping for a Christmas gift but it doesn't seem to be happening...starting to be very disappointed
-Think you missed the gist of what the O.P. wrote
Stardock Rocks !
Quoting neone6, reply 6Stardock Rocks ! It does!!!!
WindowBlinds 10 is an absolute prerequisite to ever installing a much watered down version [all the spy crap and advertising disabled] of Win 10.
Without it AND Iconpacager for 10, there is no hope on this Earth that OS would ever be seen on a machine of mine. Its UI and Icons are nauseating at best.
In fact, MS never ever came up with a half decent UI [or icons] during its history. Thank goodness for Stardock's customisation apps, for without them I would have gone utterly stark raving berserk years ago.... and comments regarding my mental state from the peanut gallery are NOT required and shall not be entered into. I know that I have a somewhat loose grip on whatever sanity I have left, but that's between me and the therapist who pads my cell.
Anyway, back to Stardock apps! While the customisation apps are the best in the business and well worth the entry price, updates to key apps has been slow of late. Now I speak not only of WindowBlinds 10 here, but Iconpackager and other key elements that made up ObjectDesktop. I say 'made up' because some of them have gone.... DesktopX being one that suffered and early demise.
Yes, I know that focus is on Win 10, but not everyone is using it and would like to see updates for Stardock apps running on Win 7 and 8... especially for IconPackager. Now I'm not dissing Stardock here, but I do feel that some apps could use some of that old fashioned Stardock love.
Icon Packager is a stay away from app. Especially on 8 and 10. Once installed, it can't be uninstalled without totally frakkin your OEM icons.
I’m also exCited about any news regarding the subject - however I’m equally happy about any news, that regard WinCustomize.com and of course IP. The more time I invest thinking about the apps that are the most visually stunning for me, the more I realize that IconPackager is an equally important app, it was one of "the" applications that got me motivated and interesteD in the Stardock train. Anyway i can only agree that being nice is more motivating and having a positive “vibe” about things, those are about to happen anyway, if you like it or not, but neat n nice words are more motivating than giving the devs more pressure. Agree on that a 100% But looking at things more rational it is obvious that all of us, wear velvet gloves all year, well it might be better to only speak for myself in that matter. But yeah sometimes you just have to take them offX.
It's truly gratifying to read a positive post for a change...was getting truly tired of the folks who simply cannot grasp that WB subs are meant to work with the OSs it supports (barring other software conflicts) and no others.
At any rate, Neil does his best...and as he said, it's being tested...which is a good thing. Patience is even better...ask any father in the delivery room.
I am running Icon Packager 4.00 in Windows 10 64 bit and it is working quite well. Not all Icon Packages work but enough of them do to keep me happy. I will continue to wait patiently for WindowBlinds 10 and I know it will be well worth it. Right now I am running MerryChristmas by Starone and it looks great. You may have to apply the icon set a couple of times but it works well as do some of my old favorites.
Please do not hold Stardock responsible for the delay in updating Windows 10. That was a Microsoft issue and we now know why so many people had problems doing a clean install. Fortunately, I used the update process so had very few problems.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
The fact that WB10 will work on all three (Win 7,8 and 10) is, in my opinion, nothing short of...WOW! There's some serious stuff going on and I cannot wait to see it. SD needs to stand up and take a bow.
What a day !
I am very happy to see all the nice replies to my post.
Thank you all for givin these thoughts even more value!
YOU GUYS ROCK TOO !
lets keep it up

RIGHT ON!
I have been using WB since maybe as early as 1999. Since before the records of purchases on this site. In 2004 I was already a renewing Object Desktop subscriber. I have belonged to Wincustomize as long as I was aware of it. I am user #64 for heaven sake.
The wait has been excruciating but I already renewed my sub even without WB 10 because I know it will be good when it comes and because I support this company.Thank you all for your work and creativity.
Very well said! Waiting can indeed be difficult, but I know when WB 10 arrives, It's gonna ROCK! Keep up the good work, Stardock - I can wait - I ain't goin' nowhere!
And Neil will need a long vacation!
Another good thing about WB 10 when it is released, it's good for the duration of Win 10.... which according to MS, is 'eternal'.... like it's the last Windows EVER. Yes, WB 10 has been some time coming because of core changes to Win 10, but being that it is being developed to accommodate those core changes, there should only ever need to be minor updates at Win 10 evolves.... meaning there should be no more 'excruciating waits for a new edition.
In other words, the wait will have been worth it. Right?
Tosh.....#64....you young'un ...
Records here would date to March, 2001 as that's when the lights came on...
I though Windows 8 removed from skinstudio 10 lol,the sad thing is i can't use it n this machine if ever Windowblinds 10 becme available.Need to buy some new machine someday..
