Hi, I just did a Windows update and now ObjectDock stopped working. I get the following out of the problem details:
Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: ObjectDock.exe Application Version: 2.20.0.862 Application Timestamp: 542c5a27 Fault Module Name: StackHash_cc11 Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.19045 Fault Module Timestamp: 56258e62 Exception Code: c0000374 Exception Offset: 000ced0b OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: cc11 Additional Information 2: cc114a01199bcd33a637c8001fbdcf96 Additional Information 3: 136c Additional Information 4: 136c0abe12031f7e5d539896b5317af1
What MS should have done, if you click on more information, is tell you that the new release is just that, a new release. Instead they don't. I agree, it is FUD. I haven't re-installed it for that reason.
Not only that. Why didn't Microsoft stop the roll out of KB3097877 as soon as they knew people were experiencing problems? Instead it took them 36 hours to react and then they did it the same way a kid who has been caught with his pants down would: 'ooops, let's pretend nothing happened and hope nobody noticed'.
No, Microsoft, we *all* noticed. Idiots, Doh!
The correct way would have been (IMO) a versioned KB with either a completely new version number or (if it doesn't break their naming conventions() something like KB3097877.1 - fixes the issues introduced by previous version pack. They would even have the comfort of fixing further problems with a KB3097877.2There is a reason why there are (ascending) version numbers in "old school" software.
I installed as well the 2nd version of KB3097877, on french Seven Pro 64 bits.
I didn't get any trouble with ObjectDock or Outlook, but this morning i got lots of troubles with Windows Live Mail.
Don't really know if it's something in relation with this KB, but i uninstalled it, marked as not show anymore, no more troubles with Windows Live Mail (cross fingers )
I just marked as hidden and left it alone. Screw MS!
