I find destroy buyout very frustrating at its current state. I had a game today where I bought a player out and needed water. In order to find what water he had on the map I had to scan the entire map and look for the little numbers everywhere. I wasted a lot of valuable time doing so.
I propose that when you buy out a player in destroy buyout that you leave the "resource lines" on the screen for the duration of the tile cooldown so you can track down all their old tiles in remote places. If it's an early buyout and you miss reclaiming one of those valuable tiles then that means you're helping your opponents by giving them free valuable tiles.
Had my first game of DB today, was interesting but one feature that I disliked was not getting the conquered players HQ bonus. I got a scientific player, but the buildings I built with his claims were not scientific buildings. Fairly certain in regular mode this doesnt happen.
For the current default mode, you inherit scientific bonuses on buildings that are already down, but not on any buildings you build later.
Being unable to take over good scientific territory (or offworlds) is unfortunate, for sure. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about the mode on the whole, though I do like the idea in principle.
More on-topic, I suppose I can understand the utility of being able to locate and take claims that were instrumental in blocking an opponent's territory. Being able to track the claims you have exclusive access to more easily would be helpful without being meaningfully harmful (at least as far as I can imagine), but does ultimately feel like a bit of an edge case to me.
