Hi, the above is the TOC style list. Now I'll open the floor for discussion and also note the short commentary in the succeeding post.
About those expanded tooltips, I mean on the tech screen is where I mean. I don't think it would insult anyone if the research institute tip specified that you need to build xeno labs before you can construct it. Especially given that you can own the science while not having the xeno developments or -whatever, which grants you xeno labs
Notes
* How did this get overlooked??
*2 Simply, I want a planet to continue being locked to the global tax wheel, while having a social-military level of my choosing
*3 I never want to see "this piece has other pieces attached so you can't remove it"; why not group-select the relevant pieces for me insetad?
*4 Example, .2 morale penalty lowers raw production on world X, which was optimized to build improvement Y in say 3 turns. Instead it winds up being enough for just 99% of Y's cost over 3 turns, thus requiring a 4th turn to complete. This seems important for your ocd optimizer (55%+ of playerbase)
!! (see following post)
The games I played went well for me, an admitted over-perfectionistic nit picker scab-scratcher. On the whole I think this can even work in a multiplayer setting where each turn takes a fairly reasonable number of minutes to execute. Some of the features above address areas where analysis might extend turn time severely. I could probably think of a half dozen more given a little more game-time, heh. But these are the ones that presented themselves most readily. Right now however I'd like everyone to up-vote the following please:
II-I have a dream. This dream has my fave 4x empire simulator give a little space in its bloomin' city summary, like let us say one column, for personalized notes useful to me. Just give a three character field which the player can place codes in to, with a code system they design. Or little color squares. For example, colonies I'm working on right now get a green square (I set the square manually). Colonies that are making weapons get a gray square. Colonies I wish would die would get a white square. Etc. And for the love of Jim, make it a sortable column. This will help me a lot! I'm sure there's less feeble-brained folks out there who nevertheless feel identically. There's literally boundless possibility for utility here, and the implementation is beyond-trivial. Drop rocks on all my other requests, but please create this one. Thanks!
Uh. Not one person wanted to chip in? Wow, ok. =-X
*barely-suppressed nerdrage*
Hi Stellio
Regarding the eject option: You can select hte shipsand right click on the tile you want htem to eject, so that should already resolve the eject location point. What might be usefull is to have one button to eject all ships and/or select all ships before sending them away from the planet as it takes a lot of time and clicking when sending all of them away from a planet
Regarding Fleet names: I think I could change the name of a fleet by clicking on its name and typing something else- try that. Should be still working
Actually i think they want a default location you can use rally points but its not ideal
as for the ship name thing the problem is when you upgrade the ship it reverts back to a default name
thanks guys. Yeah, these points are going to be polishes only, but I mean why not have that polish? I'm still discovering new things and I feel the designers outdid themselves for sure. just the one thing I'd request (YEAH I know, 1000's of players each requesting "only" one feature...) but an ingame scratchpad with some referencing ability... that just seems like good sense. Forget "oh, how can we grab the users's attentionss" and just go w/ good sense. You know?
Something that I am sorely missing is the auto-next action check box in settings. Remember when you used to finish moving a ship and it would automatically select the next one? There is not even the option for that now (at least that I can find).
Also, when you right click and hold it during movement, it would be great if the screen would show you how far you are currently trying to go. That would make things a lot easier for me...
Thanks
