Correct. And the other zip file for object files. Both need to replace their counterparts in the game's directory for mercs to work.
It's a very wonky thing... Sometimes a version won't need this... But more often than not you do.

My games are not saving when I make new ship designs and or templates. It has been happening for quite awhile now. Last game I stopped making designs and played it till the end. I think this only happens when playing GRM, not entirely sure. Game saves are fine when I don't make new designs. Also the ship yard gets pretty jumbled when I make a Privateer. Any ideas? Thanks.
Please disregard my post above. Started new game in 3.03 and saves are working fine so far.
How do I add modules to mercs ? I want to try my hand creating different kinds then share the ideas with you and see if you think it's good . Is there a list of modules or abilities I can access?

Hey gauntlet, just noticed a few bugs and i am not sure if they are game related (3.04) or related to your mods. I am running 8.5 full. Before I post to the main feedback thread i wanted to check with you:
The ability to build multiple "unique" buildings is back. I now have three import/export centers and central banks on my main finance planet for example.
The Thalan are using the Galactic president ship as an exploration ship. It just visited my area from the other side of the map.
Speaking of which the Thalan have a Star federation, I am on turn 62. A bit early m thinks especially with tech trading and brokering turned off. Did you speed up tech research?
Mod impact or bugs in underlying game still?

I'm pretty sure that's an Intrigue bug, nothing to do with GRM. I don't have GRM installed and I see races using their government ships as scouts all the time.

But the multiple buildings might be the mod... I haven't updated for the latest opt in yet.
Scratch that... doesn't seem to be GRM... I added improvements with an addendum file so I haven't messed with the standard file for buildings.

comes from Altarian Prophecies or Snathi DLC?
Neither. Think that came with the mega events or something... A very early on dlc or even registration bonus part.

Uhmmm I mean... you can probably get it by getting the various DLC...
Already got all the ones that give new parts (plus Crusade and Mercenary expansions), the only ones I miss are Altarian Prophecies, Snathi and the Mech Parts, so I don't think (at least I didn't see that part in the promotional material, see https://www.stardock.com/galciv3/altarianprophecydlc/gc3_apddlc_Classic_Parts.png).

I was wondering if there are known problems with GRM mod and Intrigue and if the kinks have been worked out of Intrigue.
The reason I ask is that I have not had any game crashes with 3.02 and Crusade with no Intrigue and do not want to start the crashing again.
8.5 the latest and best GRM ? Are you planning a new update ? I did not see a new one since April.
And how is the AI at handling the new complications of switching governments ?

Hey there!
1) I've not had any serious issues with Intrigue and GRM 8.5, seemingly 8.5 is working without issue with the current Crusade version.
2) Minor issues could be present, like issues with certain racial traits functionality or the like... hard to test everything, but nothing "crash-worthy".
3) No idea how the AI handles switching governments.
4) We'll see about another update... its been hard to get into the ship-building chair so to speak. I'm not very happy with my latest work, but I need to finish the current shipset even-so. Meanwhile, the inexorable and terrifying march of life continues with jobs, mother-in-law movings, family events, puppy rearing, and the like.
Oh and I kinda fell in love with Fallout 4 settlement crafting again (Sim Settlements you wonderful mod you!) because of the Fallout 76 announcement.
But eventually friends. Eventually. If the mod is proven incompatible with a GC version (Proven.) rest assured I'll update it.
Also just FYI if you support me via Patreon, rest assured you are only charged when I release content, not auto-monthly, for this very reason.

No idea. Prolly not if he shooters galcivdefs. Though that's a very simple thing to make compatible with GRM (just racial ability points).
Quick question for Gauntlet
In the MOD, I just noticed there are 2 Ideology folders
anything that we need to do with the Ideology-Intrigue folder or just leave as is ?

Do you have intrigue? Leave everything alone. If not read the readme file for a description on which mod folders to remove.

In the process of trying to use GRM and UCP (Horems Mod) together. I have not been entirely successful. Im hoping I can use your factions and ships with some of Horems game improvements. I have tried adding GRM to UCP and UCP to GRM with some deletions per Horem.
However, I am not sure which folders to add certain things to. For example, when I add the GRM to UCP I have to put the files in UCP_Enhanced or some of the races do not appear , the ones that use your abilities such as Exterminator. I don't understand what the folder Core is for since I have to put things in the Enhanced folder. But that was from my effort to add GRM to UCP.
I'm not sure if what I am attempting to do is possible. I come up with negative values for race abilities but it does not seem to affect play. I would still like to add abilities to the other races which are limited to 2 choices instead of 4 as in GRM
I need your races and abilities but I also would like Horems maps and AI improvements. I can dispense with the stars of trek.

I will continue to make efforts but I have a lack of understanding of how the Mods actually work (nuts and bolts) . So I am just guessing. I have changed some of the xml's with some success. My main goal is to keep Horems AI and gameplay improvements along with a few of yours. Especially your races and ships(the easy part is the ships since I just add those to designs).
As a side note, do you think the Mercenaries are strong enough in GRM ? The prices are steep sometimes and the stats of some of the ships are a little lean . What do you say ? I bought a 3000 bc ship that had only 16 total attack(or close) , however it did say i would get 50 hitpoints at the end of the battle, but i did not see the hitpoints increase. were they supposed to ?
